Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience with this veterinary practice. My cat was taken there for neutering. When I picked him up (the practice is only about a 1-2 minute drive from my house), he was completely covered in urine and feces, his fur was wet, and he smelled extremely strong – even after he had groomed himself. What was particularly upsetting was that the cat was still under anesthesia and was obviously lying in his own filth. The cage contained only four thin sheets of paper – completely inadequate. A small towel or an absorbent pad would have been sufficient. The room already smelled strongly of urine when I picked him up, but I hadn't suspected that the smell was coming from my pet, as you can't see into the cages from the outside. When I described this situation to the vet, I wasn't taken seriously and was treated as unbelievable. I would have expected significantly more care in handling my animal and respect in being treated as its owner – especially when paying for the service. Animals are sentient beings. They deserve loving, respectful treatment and careful handling, especially in a veterinary clinic. I will also report this experience to the relevant authorities.
