Super
Very, very disappointing and lacking in empathy. A crude assessment, a wrong diagnosis (Ms. Posch probably would have preferred to euthanize our 8-year-old Amy right away). She had two elevated liver values, no ultrasound, just an overpriced basic blood test, and medication that made our cat eat even less. Luckily, we listened to our gut feeling and got a second opinion. Lo and behold, the values are only slightly elevated, Amy had an x-ray, three pain management treatments without the hassle of administering pills, a urine test… everything is perfect… and the price for three loving treatments was far below the standard rate (that's not the point, but ripping people off is unacceptable). Our cat is in the best hands; she's not some ancient, terminally ill cat who supposedly has a tumor (as Ms. Posch claimed… :( We are so happy! Amy is eating again, is alive, pain-free, and no longer vomiting.
Since we got our cat (8 years ago), we've been going to Dr. Posch. Luckily, our cat wasn't often sick, so for a long time we didn't see any reason to change vets. However, I was already dissatisfied during the last two visits, as the quality of care had clearly declined. The last visit was the final straw, and I decided to leave. My cat was suffering from constant vomiting. On the phone, without even seeing the cat, I was simply asked if I had any painkillers at home. Yes, I know I was late, as the clinic was only open for another 10 minutes, but my cat didn't choose her condition. Even when I arrived 10 minutes later, Dr. Posch seemed annoyed. At the clinic, they only did a basic blood test (costing €110!!!). No further tests, such as X-rays or ultrasound, were performed. The liver values, which Dr. Posch described as "alarming" (in reality, only slightly elevated), were not investigated further in any way. Instead, I was handed three different medications, and they also tried to sell me cat food. What was particularly shocking was the statement that my cat, at eight years old, was "ancient" and practically on her last legs. For the second time, they mentioned possible tumors without any concrete diagnosis. They also didn't think an IV was necessary. I then changed veterinarians. There, my cat was treated calmly, lovingly, and seriously, and lo and behold: she's now doing worlds better. I'm explicitly not talking about the cost here. If you love your pet, you pay it. But you should be able to expect a minimum level of empathy, a thorough examination, and professional care, and that's precisely what was lacking here.
I've been taking my cats to Mr. and Mrs. Posch for years. I like them; they're honest and don't try to sell me useless junk that doesn't help. Their prices are always reasonable. I feel my cats are in good hands and understood. Thank you for everything!
