Reviews
Never again! My cat needed surgery, but almost nothing was explained to me. No X-ray, no information about the procedure – I had to ask about everything myself. After the operation, my pet was sent home without pain medication. It's clear this is all about the money and not the animals' well-being. A complete rip-off, absolutely not recommended! (Not even one star)
...I really shouldn't give any stars at all! Just stay away! It's a complete rip-off. I was there with my dog in the emergency room, and they performed unnecessary tests and injections, all for an exorbitant price! It's much better to go to a veterinary clinic in an emergency! I can only agree with all the negative reviews; please don't go there!! This "veterinarian" only practices for his own profit, not for the well-being of the animal! Stay away!
First, I just want to say that I find these bad reviews absolutely disgusting. Anyone can write anything here, completely out of context, and share their ignorant statements. That's not right. I went to Dr. Bombeck twice this weekend with my Belgian Shepherd, and I'm extremely satisfied. He took his time with my dog and with us, and listened to us to make the best possible diagnosis. My dog was examined, the diagnosis was made, and then he received excellent treatment. I've rarely met such a good veterinarian, with so much experience, knowledge, and absolute conviction. We will continue to treat our dogs with Dr. Bombeck. And another thing that should be mentioned... first find a good veterinarian, especially on weekends. A quick word about the prices... it's perfectly normal to have to pay more for emergency services on weekends, and at this point, anyone who has complained about this in the reviews should consider whether they are even able to keep or pay for an animal. Thank you very much for the treatment... We will continue to use Dr. Bombeck's veterinary practice. Recommend Bombeck. Mirijam Schirrmacher 😊
My experience with Dr. Franz-Josef Bombeck's veterinary practice left me deeply appalled and dissatisfied. In an emergency, I had to bring my dog in late one evening; he was in pain and bleeding from his anus. Dr. Bombeck diagnosed a perforated anal gland, inflammation, and fever, dramatizing the situation to such an extent that I feared my dog wouldn't survive, and insisted surgery was unavoidable. We were billed almost €450 just for the examination, several injections, and microchip scanning. The next day, I was told to drop my dog off for inpatient care, even though it was unclear when the surgery would take place. When I called on Monday to inquire, the vet still couldn't give me any information. My gut feeling told me to pick up my dog, which I did. For the overnight stay, further injections (which ones aren't specified on the bill), wound irrigation (today I'm unsure whether these, or even the injections, actually took place), and even cleaning the crate and laundry, we were charged an additional €430. The next day, I was told to bring my dog in for hospitalization, even though it was unclear when the surgery would take place. The bills and the unclear procedures led me to believe that money, not the animal's well-being, was the priority. A simple treatment plan with antibiotics and painkillers would have been sufficient for a diagnosis of anal gland inflammation. After reading several negative reviews, unfortunately only the following day, I wonder how this vet can simply continue operating like this. In my opinion, he is exploiting pet owners' fears.
