I brought a severely ill 3-month-old kitten to this veterinary clinic. The animal had been suffering from severe diarrhea and clear signs of dehydration for three days. It was clearly an acute situation. Despite this obvious emergency, any form of examination, treatment, or even a brief veterinary assessment was refused. I explicitly asked for help and the possibility of paying later, as the financial situation at that moment was unavoidable. This was refused on the grounds that no services would be provided without immediate payment – ​​even in the acute case of a suspected case of a weakened young animal. No emergency care was initiated, nor was any medical advice given, even though this was not a scheduled appointment but a potential emergency. In my understanding, such conduct contradicts the general standard of veterinary care. In emergencies, at least minimal stabilization or assessment should be provided. I will submit this incident to the relevant veterinary association for review of the procedures in acute care situations. The kitten remains ill. I cannot recommend this practice for emergencies.

Dr. Jost and her team supported us through the difficult time of the unexpected loss of our dog, Bella. Even afterward, they sent us thoughtful messages. We deeply appreciate their considerate approach – regardless of the severity or urgency of our situation, the doctor and her team always treated us with understanding, respect, and expertise, while remaining professional and effective. Our Bengal cat was spayed at the end of April 2026. We felt very comfortable during the initial examination, and the cat even more so. She let Ms. Jost examine her without any problems and stayed still. The surgery a few days later also went smoothly. The follow-up examination the next day was again very warm and professional. We made a great choice with the Jost veterinary practice and are extremely satisfied. Now a few days have passed, and our Bengal is feeling great, or rather, Bengal-like... In short: highly recommended; all the staff were incredibly friendly.

Since 2020, we've been taking our dogs to Katharina Jost's veterinary practice in Schmelz – and we couldn't be happier. I'm currently taking my puppy there, and I've also taken two other dogs there previously, and the experience has been consistently excellent. Ms. Jost impresses with her very friendly, yet clear and professional manner. I'd especially like to emphasize her loving and calm approach to the animals – you can immediately tell that genuine empathy and expertise come together here. The entire practice team is also absolutely top-notch: The veterinary assistants are always competent, organized, and take the time to answer questions. You never feel rushed – on the contrary, they always listen attentively and provide individual advice. For me, this is a veterinary practice I trust completely. Highly recommended!
