Reviews
Our cats have been patients of Dr. Kalweit for a long time, and they are always treated with great kindness, affection, and the utmost professionalism. Every step, every necessary treatment is discussed with me, and Dr. Kalweit always answers any questions kindly and thoroughly. Even when our 17-year-old cat had to be put down due to an incurable illness, Dr. Kalweit and her team were very compassionate. I highly recommend Dr. Kalweit's small animal practice.
A few nights ago, at 1 a.m., we finally reached Dr. Kalweit on call after trying unsuccessfully for an hour and a half. Our dog was sick and in pain, which worsened so rapidly during the night that we decided to have her put down. We arrived at the clinic in the middle of the night; our dog had died in my husband's arms in the car. We were devastated. I told Dr. Kalweit this when she arrived (we were already there). "You come in now; I don't treat patients on the street!" was her incredibly brusque greeting. I got my husband out of the car; he was holding the dead dog. "Come here now," was the next unfriendly sentence as we stood lost in the hallway, unsure of where to go, since we had never been to the clinic before. She heard the heartbeat, which was sadly no longer there, and explained the next steps, including the transfer to the crematorium. ``` Furthermore, we learned that she had to get up again at 4 a.m. because she had to go to a training course the next morning. (Is that our problem, and why do you take on the emergency shift if you don't want to and don't answer the phone anyway?!) This experience that night was unimaginable; we have never experienced anything so callous, so little understanding of the situation. A few days later, the bill arrived: €240 for bringing in a dead dog! €50 for the emergency service, fine. We were expecting around €100. But to charge for a consultation, a treatment, and even supplies is outrageous and an absolute disgrace. We will not recommend this veterinarian to anyone!
My Maine Coon cat had a tumor about 1 cm in size next to his nose. Ms. Kallweit removed it, and now, weeks later, there's absolutely no sign of the procedure, not even the scar. He looks fantastic! She removed the tumor so expertly, and the initial examination was so gentle and pleasant. We are both absolutely thrilled with the result. I can highly recommend Ms. Kallweit. You feel like you're in good hands with her.
