I've only had positive and professional experiences at this veterinary practice. Last year, my grey and white cat was very ill, and the support and advice were excellent. What I particularly appreciated was that they advised against unnecessary tests, even though they might have generated revenue for the practice. The vet's euthanasia, which I was present to assist, was also very ethical and compassionate for both my cat and me. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart! ❤️ My current cat recently had a minor operation, and I received such thorough instructions that I didn't need to return to the practice for further wound care. Truly wonderful!

I had to take my 16-week-old dog to the vet today. We visit Burhave several times a year and don't have a local vet. The initial contact with the practice staff member on the phone was very pleasant and very friendly. I was allowed to come in that same morning. We were greeted just as warmly at the practice. The treatment by the vet was excellent, with absolute empathy for both humans and dogs. He made the entire procedure relaxed and puppy-friendly. Highly recommended 👍 We are very grateful and will only visit this veterinary practice if we have any problems with our three dogs.

We were patients there from 2016 until mid-2025 with a total of seven cats. Sadly, two passed away in 2021 and last year. This review is about our second cat, Mikesh. One day, I noticed that Mikesh couldn't move his hind legs. I immediately took him to the vet and called the clinic at the same time. Despite explaining how urgent it was, the person on the phone told me to expect a wait. They said we should go to another vet if necessary. I called other vets and also the Oldenburg Animal Center, but unfortunately, this wasn't possible (due to lack of time, being too busy, or being closed), which I explained to them during a second call. The staff member, sounding annoyed, then said we could come in, but should hurry. Once there, we had to wait for over an hour and a half. I sat there crying and desperate in the waiting room, terrified that Mikesh was having a stroke or something similar and might die immediately or eventually lose the ability to walk. I asked several times if we could be squeezed in and explained my concerns. The answer was: no, the others were waiting for their appointments, and we could have gone somewhere else. Regarding the woman at the front of the practice—I want to emphasize that the other veterinary assistants have always been kind and empathetic to me and the cats throughout the entire nine years. It was only one older woman who behaved this way that day. Unfortunately, it wasn't the first time. Regarding the vet: once in the examination room, Mikesh was examined, and an X-ray of his abdomen and lower back/legs was taken. The vet told us we should go to the clinic because he suspected a peritoneal tear. He and another veterinary assistant arranged an appointment for us directly in Posthausen, and we were able to go there immediately. The practice sent the X-rays to the clinic. Upon arrival, it turned out that some additional, incorrect X-rays had been sent, and none of the X-rays showed a tear in the diaphragm—not one of them. A new X-ray was taken. The diagnosis of fluid retention in his lungs, heart, and abdomen came quickly. The vets there explained that the vet in Atens had taken a poor-quality X-ray, and it should have shown that there was no tear. Had they relied solely on the X-ray from the practice, he would have been treated incorrectly. Mikesh was immediately placed in an oxygen cage and admitted for inpatient care. Emergency surgery followed. Later, it turned out that a malignant brain tumor was the cause. He sadly passed away from it three months later. 💔 I'm giving two stars because of the other TMF staff, who were always genuinely kind over the past nine years and for ensuring we could quickly get to an animal hospital. The rest of that day was awful, and even now I can't understand why they acted that way… I haven't been back since, as my trust is completely gone. Previously, we had already noticed treatment errors or incorrect diagnoses with other cats of ours… (for example, only a bladder infection was diagnosed and treated, when struvite stones were the cause, which another vet discovered by chance; or stress was treated, but actually a fish allergy was the cause of months of licking her bald and sore belly). Now, unfortunately, our trust is completely gone, and we have found another vet. In some instances, I wish the vets there had admitted to themselves and to us that they weren't specialists and referred us elsewhere, instead of treating the cats haphazardly.

I took my cat to this practice for the first time today, and I'm thrilled. The welcome, the friendliness of the staff, and the very thorough examination by the vet were all excellent. You could tell how honest and loving my pet was treated. After a disappointing experience elsewhere, I switched to this practice and can wholeheartedly recommend it. Best regards
