Reviews
We are very satisfied with the veterinary practice of Anke Engel. Our Malinois dog had to have two molars extracted. Ms. Bauer explained the procedure to me thoroughly and also took the time afterward. Our dog felt very comfortable with the team, and I can definitely recommend the practice.
I am truly shocked and very disappointed by this vet visit. It's important to mention that my dog wasn't treated by Ms. Engel, but by Ms. Bauer. My dog screamed incessantly while his anal glands were being expressed – I've never seen him so distressed. This procedure is performed regularly and has never been a problem before. Seeing my dog suffer like that was almost unbearable and made me feel that the vet hadn't been careful or sensitive. What also greatly upsets me is that they charged for a dental examination, even though none actually took place. They glanced superficially in his mouth for perhaps 15 seconds – without any proper examination – and charged €24 for that. The cost for expressing his anal glands was also suddenly more than double the usual €23 (previously around €11), without any explanation or transparency. I left the vet's office with a very bad feeling. In my opinion, neither the treatment of the animal nor the billing was acceptable. Trust is paramount for me when choosing a veterinarian – and unfortunately, that trust was completely destroyed here.
What kind of vet would let a dog suffer just because you don't have the money right away? And maybe you could do something on the invoice. Now the dog would have to be put down because she refused treatment.
