Tierarztpraxis Dr. Ulrike Maute

We are truly disappointed and shocked by our experience at this veterinary practice. We had to pay €243 for the emergency service – for a simple bandage. We explicitly stated on the phone that we only wanted the bandage applied, as our regular vet was already aware of the wound. Despite this, additional services were billed, including a "general examination" and a "dermatological examination," which, in our opinion, were never performed. When we inquired about the examination, the veterinarian simply said, "I can bill for that – he's twitching, he's alive." – a disrespectful and unprofessional response that left us speechless. When we tried to clarify the situation in person, we were barely listened to and not taken seriously. Since no understanding was shown, we will be reporting the incident to the Lower Saxony Veterinary Chamber. We would have appreciated transparency, empathy, and a fair discussion – instead, we are left with frustration, disappointment, and a very negative impression.

I don't understand many of these negative comments. Dr. Maute is honest and doesn't sugarcoat the animal's condition. Today, on Christmas Day, we had to have our 19-year-old cat Flo put down after medication and a steady, but ultimately rapid, decline. I was absolutely devastated and experienced a great deal of empathy from Dr. Maute and her kind assistant. I prefer to hear an honest and competent assessment rather than let my beloved pet continue to suffer. Thank you so much for taking the time for us on such short notice.

I just checked the opening hours and am shocked by the reviews here. I don't think there's a lack of empathy here, neither on the part of the vet nor her team; quite the opposite. There's so much empathy for the animals here that it might sometimes be difficult for a vet to witness actions being taken far too late. We've been going here for years and are satisfied. I have a lot of trust and get along well with the vet and her team; I find them friendly, and everyone has their own personality. You can go to this practice without hesitation. Prices have gone up at all veterinary clinics.

We took our 17-year-old cat to Dr. Maute and her team and are very grateful for their excellent care. The veterinarian took plenty of time, explained everything clearly, and was a great help to our senior cat – after just a few days, he was noticeably better thanks to the treatment. The tip about dental care was particularly helpful and proved effective for both cats immediately. The entire team was very friendly and empathetic – you can tell they work with both heart and expertise. A practice we can wholeheartedly recommend.
