Tierklinik Dr. Reif

I've been taking several dogs to Dr. Reif's practice for years and have always been very satisfied. The veterinarians are very friendly and take their time to explain things and answer questions. I don't understand why so many people complain about the prices. They are always communicated transparently, and no unnecessary tests are performed. In any case, I'm glad we have such a competent veterinary practice with an emergency service in our area.

Since our former vet (without examining our dog) suggested she had kidney problems, we contacted Dr. Reif's clinic for a blood test. Dr. Perret was wonderful with our dog and took his time with her. We received the blood test results after just two days. Our dog wasn't found to have kidney problems, but she was diagnosed with diabetes. The necessary insulin arrived a few days later, and Dr. Schwarzmann explained everything to us in detail. We always received a quick response or a prompt callback whenever we had questions. We are very satisfied.

On Saturday at 11 p.m., we had an emergency: our playful little kitten had swallowed a needle and thread. It was just a moment of carelessness, and the needle was swallowed. We called all the nearby emergency veterinary clinics, but to no avail. Within a radius of about 50 kilometers, Dr. Reif's clinic in Schwäbisch Gmünd was the only one that answered our call. The friendly gentleman on the phone explained the first aid measures we had taken. He also gave us expert advice from a distance about what could happen. We immediately made the right decision to go to the clinic. When we arrived, we were expected. The friendly gentleman responded very competently and kindly. The kitten's toe was x-rayed, and the needle was located. It had lodged itself, along with the thread, in the lower jaw region. In an immediate, minimally invasive procedure, Dr. Reif's team was able to... Reif removed the needle and the kitten's life was saved. We are so grateful and happy. Upon examination of our dog, the diagnosis was: torn right posterior cruciate ligament. We got a surgery appointment relatively quickly, everything went well, and we were able to pick up our dog that afternoon. After about seven weeks, our dog started limping badly again, so we had to return to the vet's office for another examination! What happened next was something I've never experienced before!!! From the very beginning, the vet on duty that day treated us with such arrogance as we've rarely experienced! After all, we would have gone for the cheapest of the cheap, so we shouldn't be surprised if the whole thing didn't work. Before the surgery, we had a detailed conversation with Dr. Reif, who assured us that the chosen treatment would be completely sufficient for our little dog. We have never been treated with such condescension. The good woman didn't even realize that with her statements she was questioning the competence of her own boss!!! The first two appointments went to our complete satisfaction, but this woman—I don't want to name any names here—is absolutely unacceptable, we're so sorry!!! Best regards, the Angott family
