Reviews
I can highly recommend Wahlstedt. My dog ââunfortunately had recurring problems with his pancreas for quite some time. The veterinarians always took their time to examine him properly. The entire team always took wonderful care of my Fritz, even during his hospital stay, and I felt very well looked after and knew my dog ââwas in the best hands. Thank you!
âïžâïžâïžâïžâïž Last year, we visited this clinic for the first time for our dog's endoscopic spaying. We've since moved to a different state, but a year later, we still drove about 300 kilometers to have her cruciate ligament operated on there. We made this trip deliberately because no other clinic, neither in LĂŒbeck nor in Rostock, can match the competence, friendliness, and reliability of this veterinary clinic. From start to finish, we were once again completely satisfied: The receptionists are always friendly, calm, and solution-oriented, both on the phone and in person. The layout of the waiting areas is very well thought out; you immediately feel comfortable. The consultation was also thorough once againâthey really took the time to explain everything clearly. Our dog received warm and loving care, even though she's a rather spirited and not always easy breed. Our dog was cared for with great warmth and affection, even though she's a rather spirited and sometimes challenging breed. The consultation was also very thoroughâthey really took the time to explain everything clearly. I would particularly like to highlight the excellent aftercare: We received detailed therapy plans, direct contacts, and many helpful tips and recommendations. Another major plus is the straightforward direct billing with the insurance company â this saves a lot of hassle and inspires additional confidence. Overall, simply an outstanding clinic where you can tell that competence, compassion, and organization come together perfectly. Highly recommended! đŸ Thank you! đ«¶đ»
We've never felt so well cared for anywhere! Our dog has been suffering from mucus since September. The nasal discharge was awful, and nothing helped. We had an endoscopy done elsewhere. After that, he developed paralysis of his left eyelid and lip. We went to two different veterinarians and another clinic. It was okay there too. But in Wahlstedt, at Dr. Genz's clinic, we were taken seriously. My records of the past few months were taken into account. A CT scan and an MRI were performed. The costs were clearly communicated. And the subsequent care, mostly by phone since we live far away, was excellent. Thanks to the care of Dr. Genz and his team, Chico is slowly but surely getting better. We will definitely return to the clinic if anything else comes up.
We took our dog Hunter to the AniCura Small Animal Clinic because of suspected poisoning. It was before the clinic even opened. Nevertheless, the friendly ladies at reception opened the doors and saw us immediately. I cannot confirm the negative reviews that report emergencies being turned away. Dr. Kuhn took his time with us, and we didn't feel like just a number to be rushed through. The conversations were very pleasant. The follow-up care was also very satisfactory and the staff were incredibly friendly. We received the blood test results very quickly. Dr. Kuhn called us personally the same day. Both the team and Dr. Kuhn have earned our trust. We have decided to make this our regular veterinary clinic. Thank you.
Bad experience â not recommended We visited the Wahlstedt Veterinary Clinic on March 1, 2026 â it was our first and definitely last visit. We arrived with our young dog, who had recently undergone surgery (four days prior). We brought all the medical reports from our regular veterinarian. We were all the more surprised â and frankly shocked â that immediately upon entering the clinic, we were strongly advised to admit our dog and pay a âŹ3,000 advance for a two-day stay. At that point, apart from taking her temperature and a quick glance at her records, nothing further had been examined or treated. Since our dog had already received good initial care and we only needed pain medication, we had to endure several curt and unfriendly responses. Unfortunately, we strongly felt that the animal's well-being was not the primary concern, but rather a quick, high bill. For a single medication plus two tabletsâwith hardly any examinationâwe ended up paying around âŹ100 on the spot. Upon leaving the clinic, I simply asked for a brief written confirmation of which medication had been administered. We were informed the following day that this confirmation would cost an additional âŹ40. This wasn't mentioned at the clinic. Our regular veterinarian also informed us today that the tablets could cause stomach problemsâparticularly concerning since our dog recently had uterine surgery. This raises further doubts for us about whether the treatment was truly thorough and tailored to the individual needs of our dog. Perhaps our experience isn't representative of all the veterinarians thereâI would never claim thatâbut we are certain: We will avoid this veterinary clinic in the future and, after this experience, unfortunately cannot recommend it.
