Dr. Bender is a fantastic veterinarian!! Last April, I took in an old, cancerous livestock guardian dog. On the advice of two friends, both of whom have been taking their cats and dogs to Dr. Bender for years, I made an appointment with her. Even during the initial examination, it quickly became clear to me that she was the right vet for us and would guide us through my girl's illness. You can feel her love and care for animals. Her primary and absolute priority is the well-being of her patients. You never get the impression that you're being ripped off financially – quite the opposite!! For the past 21 months, Dr. Bender has been an absolutely competent and reliable contact person. She has supported us both in person and repeatedly over the phone, without charging for the latter. Ten days ago, my dog slipped and tore the cruciate ligament in her left hind leg. It was awful, and I was devastated! For a few days, I thought she had to be put down. But her zest for life was still palpable and visible in her eyes. Dr. Bender was always available for us in the days since the accident—even over Christmas and afterward—even though she was on vacation. She provided expert advice, supported my decisions, and was just as happy as I was about the small signs of healing and improvements in my girl. She consulted with two animal physiotherapists about non-surgical treatment options, and we will try them. She supported my dog with medication AND reassured me, giving me confidence in dealing with the cancer and the injury. WHAT MORE COULD YOU EXPECT? Nothing! Absolutely nothing, because Dr. Bender far exceeded my expectations! I know my girl doesn't have much longer to live, but Dr. Bender has given us a little more time together. And when the time comes, I know that she will support and guide us with love and expertise. Thank you so much, Dr. Bender!! I am so incredibly grateful for everything you have done for my dog and me during the almost two years you have been our veterinarian! ☆☆☆☆ C. Risch-Wynn & Sheba ☆☆☆☆

In a very worrying situation, we received an incredibly friendly and empathetic welcome at the emergency veterinary clinic. Ms. Bender handled our cat lovingly and, despite the late hour, took plenty of time for us. Her calm demeanor and clear explanations immediately put us at ease. She was incredibly gentle with our Susi and took the time to explain everything clearly. It was evident how much the well-being of animals means to her. Thanks to her quick and competent help, we were able to go home with peace of mind. We are very grateful for this and would contact her again without hesitation.

I found my visit to this veterinary practice to be professionally problematic and organizationally inadequate. The examination room was unsuitable for a cat. My pet was able to escape under an open rolling container, which unnecessarily escalated the situation. During the examination, I had to restrain my cat myself without guidance, which caused considerable stress for both of us. I am particularly critical of the medication: After the appointment, I was given an antibiotic that was explicitly labeled for dogs on the packaging. There was no clear information about the active ingredient, no unambiguous explanation of its suitability for cats, and the dosage instructions contradicted what had been communicated verbally. I consider this procedure potentially dangerous and irresponsible for pet owners. Since there were other factors besides comments that I personally found disturbing and insensitive, I did not inquire about the correct dosage and changed veterinarians. Because there were other issues besides comments that I personally found disturbing and insensitive, I did not inquire about the correct dosage and changed veterinarians. ``` SUPPLEMENTARY CONCLUSION REMARKS ON HANDLING CRITICISM My previous review was publicly posted, along with data and details from the treatment relationship. Such handling of patient data is absolutely unacceptable. In several publicly accessible replies to negative reviews, the owner responds by addressing me by name, making personal attacks, and disclosing alleged details from the treatment relationship, instead of addressing the criticism objectively. This behavior is verifiable based on the publicly available replies and is not an isolated incident. We've been coming to the practice for years, both with dogs (often several at once) and cats! Never had any problems, although my animals also get "vet training" at home. Often the real problem is the owner, who makes the animal even more insecure. So work on yourself first and don't blame the vet if it doesn't work.
