Reviews
Unfortunately, my last visit with my dog there was completely unhelpful. Dr. Oechsner didn't answer my questions. Even though we're regular patients and the waiting room was empty, we were dismissed with, "It all needs to be surgically removed, but I don't have time for that." He had no idea how to proceed and offered no diagnosis. Very worried, I then went to the veterinary clinic, where they performed a biopsy and provided a thorough consultation. The result: no surgery required, harmless lipomas. Furthermore, I noticed in my dog's vaccination record that the vaccination Dr. Oechsner administered last year had already expired, according to the sticker. Either he put the wrong batch number in the record, or he actually injected an expired medication. It's a real shame because I'd been satisfied with him for years, but after this experience, I'd rather pay a bit more at the clinic than go back to him.
I'm currently torn. I've been going to Dr. Oechsner for years and have recommended him to my acquaintances and friends. I know the practice through my father, who was already going to the senior clinic with his dogs back then. I'm not really sure what happened, but about five months ago, I went to Dr. Oechsner with my dog. It seemed strange to me that he didn't answer the phone beforehand. After his explanation that so many people were calling and he was no longer answering the phone and instead asked people to come to the practice, I thought, I can understand, after all, he's the only one. After we discovered that my 11-year-old dog needed two canine teeth extracted, we made an appointment. However, I wanted him to do an ultrasound first, as it seemed strange to me that my dog was drinking so much. So, that was done, along with a blood test. When I picked him up after the surgery, everything was great, and the price for such a complex operation was completely reasonable. The follow-up checks were also very good, and the explanation for the catastrophic blood work was explained to me as being due to her teeth. So I wasn't too worried. Then there was an emergency, and I first tried to reach Mr. Oechsner by cell phone. After I couldn't reach him, we took my dog to the Oberhaching veterinary clinic. She had a severe bladder infection, and tumors were discovered in her liver and spleen (which hadn't been discovered during the dental surgery 2.5 months earlier). I was given medication there and told to see my veterinarian midweek, which I did. Mr. Oechsner was completely different. He asked what he should do now, she was already getting the right medication, and I should do everything else through the veterinary clinic, where I would be in good hands. I did that. The veterinary clinic asked me to please get the blood work results for comparison. Oechsner couldn't find her and said the veterinary clinic should contact him, so he could discuss it with them. However, the veterinary clinic couldn't reach him for three days either. I think even if he's very busy, they can call the clinic back. I'm extremely disappointed and at a loss, and I find it a shame that after 11 years I've gotten the impression that I'm not a regular customer. Yes, I didn't go there often, but even when I lived in Taufkirchen, I went to him. It's a shame, and unfortunately, I'll probably have to find a new veterinarian. What I can say, however, is that in the years before, he was always a compassionate and caring veterinarian who not only calmed the animals.
My dog had surgery for an umbilical hernia and was neutered at the same time. Even before the procedure, I received a very thorough and easy-to-understand explanation, so I felt completely at ease the whole time. The surgery went smoothly, and the aftercare was thorough and attentive. I particularly appreciate Dr. Oechsner's friendly, relaxed, yet always polite and competent manner. The costs are also absolutely fair and reasonable. I was a patient of Dr. Oechsner Senior for many years and am now equally impressed with his son. Dr. Oechsner Junior works with a wealth of experience, heart, and passion – I can wholeheartedly recommend the practice with great gratitude!
The best vet in the world. We've been visiting him with my cat for many years, and I'm always happy to have him as our vet. Thank you for everything, Dr. Oechsner!
