We are completely satisfied with the care our horses receive from the practice.

The mare had cellulitis. She was diagnosed with vision damage and unrideability, and a colic examination was billed.

I went to the emergency vet because my mare had a tumor-related colic. The tumor was inoperable and already growing rapidly in her intestinal area. A rectal examination wasn't possible, and my mare started bleeding, which was dismissed as normal. When I brought up the topic of euthanasia, they immediately brushed it aside. My mare was already over 30 years old and had the gray cancer. Our usual vet, who unfortunately wasn't available at the time, ultimately had to euthanize my mare two days later. The tumor had made it impossible for her to defecate properly because everything was too constricted. We were strongly advised against euthanasia, or rather, it was refused altogether, and instead, she was given a whole bunch of injections. The costs amounted to almost €500. The vet would have liked to treat her even more; I cannot recommend this practice. Our vet confirmed that this treatment was nothing but torture for my mare and that there was no treatment option for this type of cancer, only to let the animal live as long as it wasn't suffering and then euthanize it at the appropriate time. Furthermore, the individual veterinary fees were almost twice as high as our vet's. I would have gladly spared my mare the further pain and suffering for nothing, but I would also have been willing to bear these costs if it had made sense and my mare could have recovered.

Dr. Ewers supported my horse and me through some difficult times. She always assessed everything accurately and never hesitated to say that it was safer, or even urgently necessary, to go to the clinic. She also recognized abnormalities in the eye and, when my horse suffered his first colic, correctly referred him to the clinic immediately as an absolute emergency and took all necessary measures. Dr. Ewers stayed with us until the very end and ultimately helped my horse pass away peacefully and safely. I am so grateful to have had such a veterinarian by our side, who was always available, even for follow-up questions, and whom I trust completely. I wholeheartedly recommend her and her team. Thank you for everything.

She arrived late at night within 30 minutes and helped our mare with gas colic. Super friendly, competent, personable, reliable, and trustworthy. I'm so glad Ms. Ewers and her team were recommended to me. Highly recommended! Thank you for the quick help!
