We were very impressed with the veterinary practice of Dr. Scheidt in Idar-Oberstein and the AniCura Animal Clinic in Trier. Our cat was only 9 years old, and when we first visited the other practice on Wednesday, blood was drawn due to suspected kidney problems or diabetes. The initial response was that he should receive kidney food and medication, and that his blood work would be checked again in the fall. Since we had done our own research, we were aware that it could potentially be end-stage renal failure. Just one day later, we visited Dr. Scheidt's veterinary practice for a second opinion. There, they explained to us very sensitively that our cat did indeed have end-stage renal failure. An ultrasound was to provide further clarity about the cause. That same evening, his condition deteriorated so drastically that we had to take him to the AniCura Animal Clinic in Trier. There, it was determined that his kidney problems were caused by congenital cysts. Thanks to the compassionate care we received, we were able to spend a few final days with him at home before he had to be put to sleep. We would especially like to emphasize that Dr. Scheidt performed the euthanasia for our little darling with great sensitivity and dignity. This gave us a sense of security and comfort during this difficult time. We were very impressed with both practices: The team was exceptionally empathetic and competent, and provided us with outstanding support during this challenging period. We felt understood and well-advised – invaluable, especially in such an emotionally draining situation.
We've been taking all our cats to this vet for years – and we truly couldn't imagine a better one. You can immediately tell that he's not only highly competent, but also genuinely passionate about his work. He always takes his time, explains everything clearly, and makes every decision with the utmost care and in the best interest of the animal. Whether it's a routine check-up or a more serious case, we've always felt we were in excellent hands. We especially appreciate his calm and empathetic manner with the animals and with us as their owners. The entire team is simply wonderful: always friendly, warm, and incredibly helpful. You feel welcome and well cared for from the very first moment. We're certain: as long as we have pets, we'll always come here. Highly recommended!
Dr. Scheid saved our cat Fily's life. He was very ill. The foreign object was removed immediately under anesthesia. One day later, our cat was feeling much better. We are very satisfied. The staff and the doctor were very friendly. Thank you so much, simply wonderful!
