We've been there twice now with our guinea pigs. They didn't really help us, but we still had to pay a hefty sum. We saw two different vets, and each one contradicted the other. We won't be going back there. We're still waiting for the diagnosis that was supposed to be given to us.
We took our two male cats to be neutered. One of them's wound started bleeding again, so we went back to the vet, who stitched it up. That was the second time he had to go under anesthesia. We were supposed to come back for a check-up the next day, but the vet didn't have time at the agreed time, and we were told to leave him there. When we picked him up, he was already under anesthesia again. When we asked why, the assistant initially dodged the question. As it turns out, they cut him open on the belly because they thought he was a female and wanted to sterilize her. Now we've got our cat back with two scars and three consecutive anesthetics. What fantastic staff! They can't even tell the sex! I hope he survives...
Complete mistreatment of our 3.5-year-old draft horse mare! When I first called Dr. Bartels, someone arrived very quickly. He treated her for colic, even though there were no typical signs, which we pointed out to him several times! When he left and the situation hadn't really improved, and I was now certain that she was suffering from atypical myopathy, i.e., maple poisoning (which was also confirmed during the necropsy), I immediately called again and explicitly mentioned this! I was promised that someone would come right away. After about 30 minutes, I called again because no one had come and it was really, really, really urgent! Still no one came!! The end result was, unfortunately, that our mare collapsed within 10-15 minutes, had very, very severe convulsions, and then died a very painful death. About 45 minutes after her death, he finally arrived... Note, almost twice!! Hours after the first emergency call! He just said, "Oh shit," and assumed my calls weren't that urgent. But if they had been, would I have called twice as an emergency and explicitly mentioned that she had been poisoned?!? Conclusion: This practice is not recommended, even though 24-hour emergency service sounds very appealing! It's a shame you can't give zero stars, because one is definitely too many in our case!
They'll never see me again. Wrong diagnosis. He said my jaw was just swollen. Even though an x-ray was taken, he couldn't see what was really wrong. When I went to another doctor because I didn't get better, I was told my jaw was dislocated. They'll never see me again.
