0 stars NEVER AGAIN! I brought my gerbil in because I wanted her checked out due to her behavior (she was only sleeping and not running around anymore, but she was still eating!). I suspected she was lonely or just getting old, but I wanted to be on the safe side because gerbils suffer silently, and I thought nothing would happen, they were just checking to see what was wrong! My pet wasn't even given a chance to calm down, and I specifically told her she was very stressed (but she should know that herself, since she's responsible for small animals). My gerbil was immediately taken out and held so tightly that I could see her left eye getting bigger (almost squeezing out), as if she were being crushed. My pet had a seizure due to stress and then died seconds later from a heart attack (instead of trying to restart her heart with massage, they just left it). And then, quite "suddenly," after all that happened, they said she had "uterine cancer; her belly is completely round." They supposedly determined this without an X-ray or ultrasound, just by looking at her. And after the initial shock, the very first thing they said was, "Do you have anything to bury? The examination will cost €21 and some change." There was no "I'm sorry," no "my condolences," or anything like that. Everything they wanted to inject my pet with during the seizure, after she was already dead, I had to ask what exactly she wanted to inject, and I got no answer! Her colleague had to ask the doctor herself, and only then did I get an answer. I regret it and will never forgive myself for going there. I regret it and will never forgive myself for going there. The title "Small Animals" should be removed. When I went to pick up the treatment report the next day, it was even more outrageous than I already suspected. The information about my pet was completely wrong: instead of "gerbil," it said "jumping mouse"; instead of "3 years old," it seriously said "2024 years old"; and under "Diagnosis," it said "General Check"—that says it all! When I called and requested a new report, I was told I'd have to pay extra for the medication! I told them they should have deducted that beforehand—it's unbelievable! The explanation for why it said "jumping mouse" was that they'd had a new system since August, and the computer supposedly couldn't type "gerbil." When I came back the next day for the new report, my father was interrupted mid-sentence with the words, "I can speak, too!" Then I said, "Maybe let my father finish speaking first." At that point, I wasn't addressed as "Miss" in that tone, and suddenly the system could spell "gerbil," even "Mongolian gerbil." The practice is completely ridiculous, and the staff is incredibly unfriendly and shows absolutely no compassion. Now I have to go bury my gerbil and go home in shock and with a guilty conscience, even though I only wanted to help her.
Dr. Frommeyer was a great help with our first cat, who was nearing the end of her life. With our second cat, she pronounced her dead with great love and care. She even kept the practice open a little longer because we had called ahead. I really appreciate this. That's why I've always recommended Dr. Frommeyer to everyone. However, we initially received a misdiagnosis of a terminal illness, which has since been refuted by several veterinarians. Nevertheless, I still wanted to trust Dr. Frommeyer, so my cat, who had an appointment for a blood test, received an €85 enema (which I could have done myself, as he's very, very sweet), but no blood test. The emergency veterinary service had recommended the blood test after his pneumonia. Since she refused to draw blood as requested in the appointment, saying she would only do so if the cat recovered... That was the beginning, when I noticed she suddenly seemed increasingly distracted and preferred to promote a low-quality food brand with a discount code for my supposedly kidney-diseased cat. That's when I decided to switch vets, and suddenly my "problem cats" are no longer problems; they love the vet and cuddle with her—no more straitjacket or gloves needed.
We've been there several times with our budgies and cockatiels. Highly recommended for simple issues (crop inflammation, etc.). We'll definitely come back if our birds get sick again.
I found both Dr. Frommeyer and her team to be very friendly and welcoming. Appointments were always prompt. She knows a lot about rabbits. I really enjoy the loving way she treats my two long-eared friends, and that's why, as long as I have my two rabbits, I won't go anywhere else when they need help. THANK YOU
I brought my cat in. She'd been vomiting and not eating for days. Eventually, she couldn't even make it to the litter box and was urinating everywhere. Even though I explained the problem to them, they (unprofessionally) dragged my sick cat out of her cage, took a blood sample, and put her back in the cage. When I pointed out that I'd mentioned she hadn't eaten in a long time, and asked if they could perhaps give her something to stimulate her appetite, or maybe an IV or something? They said, "Oh yes, we can do that." Then they apparently gave her an IV and injected it into her back in three seconds? Right, an IV? Anyway, my cat died the next day. Thanks for nothing. I'm going to take my other cat to Dr. Pokorny in Ulm, no matter what. I'll regret not going there for the rest of my life.
