Reviews
We always feel our animals are in good hands with the Marquis family. They are not only highly competent, but also empathetic, understanding, and patient, and have never let us or our furry friends down. Veterinarians are "only" human, which is why there are a few negative reviews, but we are convinced that the Marquis family always gives their best for the animals, to the best of their knowledge and conscience. We have never been disappointed, and we truly appreciate them and their dedication. We don't know what we would do without them. Thank you for being there! 🌟
Truly caring veterinarians! Unlike many animal hospitals and other vets, their focus isn't on maximizing profits, but on what's best for the animal! We were even allowed to come in late in the evening, and they took plenty of time for our cat. We can wholeheartedly recommend this practice!
We took our small dog to the emergency clinic on Easter Sunday. We had noticed a cloudiness on her cornea and wanted to have it checked out quickly. The vet was very reserved. The woman who administered the medication explained that a fluorescent solution would be put into her eye. The solution was administered directly from the container into my dog's eyes, which turned out to be very unhygienic, according to my regular vet, whom I saw afterward. The vet couldn't answer any of our questions and seemed incompetent. I had to keep asking what the cloudiness could be, but I didn't get a straight answer. "Maybe it's an injury," the vet suggested, repeatedly asking his colleague what she thought. Perhaps they were both vets? I don't know. We were then given two different types of eye drops and told how to use them. I had to ask again what kind of drops they were, how long I should use them, and how the follow-up appointment would be, since we don't live in Heidenheim. The vet simply told us to administer the drops as prescribed and that it would be gone in one to two weeks. Since I felt the vet was incompetent and had a very bad feeling about it, I went to my regular vet when we got back to Berlin. She immediately took blood, which turned out to be a very good thing, as she suspected dystrophy and referred us to an ophthalmologist. She couldn't understand at all how Dr. Marquis arrived at his diagnosis and criticized the administration of the antibiotic. The ophthalmologist, with whom we got an appointment the next day, said that the diagnosis of corneal dystrophy was absolutely clear! I wonder how someone can act so irresponsibly as this vet did. Why not refer patients to another doctor if you're unsure? I can't understand the other reviews about this vet being empathetic. I paid almost 200 euros for treatment that was completely incomprehensible. The woman, however, was very friendly and accommodating. Nevertheless, I stand by my opinion and consider her behavior irresponsible towards my animal. I absolutely cannot recommend this veterinary practice!
This afternoon we had to take our Sammy to the emergency clinic. His entire face was swollen. Ms. Marquis was incredibly empathetic and reassuring. Mr. Marquis is very competent and gentle and helped our little one with injections. Although it's not our usual practice, we felt incredibly comfortable, taken seriously, and well cared for. Definitely recommend them! 👍💥
On Saturday evening, our 10.5-year-old dog exhibited extremely strange behavior. She drank a lot of water and then vomited it all up shortly afterward; this happened twice. Afterward, she was so weak that she was trembling and could barely stand. Since we had never experienced anything like this with her before, we were alarmed and called the emergency veterinary number. A very friendly woman answered the phone. She reassured us and advised us to wait and see if our dog was still able to walk with us. Of course, we could also come in immediately, but we would have to pay the emergency surcharge. We waited a while, took our dog into the garden, and then decided to call again. The woman answered the phone again, and we were able to come to the clinic right away. There, we were warmly welcomed by her and her husband (the veterinarian). Our concerns were taken seriously. Our dog was examined and finally received three injections for nausea and pain relief. When I went to pay, I was told the bill would arrive by email. Our dog was noticeably better afterward. What exactly was wrong with her is unclear. The bill arrived a few days later, for just under €280. This amount included: - General examination (ears, teeth, etc.) - Listening with a stethoscope - Taking her temperature - 3 injections for pain and nausea - Veterinarian plus assistant - Duration: approx. 15 minutes Emotionally, I was happy to pay the bill. I felt well cared for, and my dog was feeling better. However, financially speaking, I'm speechless. I completely understand that surcharges are applied for emergencies. But I still can't comprehend €40 per injection.
