I used Dr. Carstanjen for my horse's tendon injury (including surgery), rehabilitation program, back problems, fever, vaccinations, general consultation, etc. She seemed competent from a professional standpoint. Unfortunately, several aspects turned out to be very unreliable. Bills were sent that were much higher than agreed upon, and quoted cost estimates were not honored. As soon as money was involved, I saw a different side to this veterinarian and am very disappointed.

I have found Dr. Carstanjen to be an extremely professional veterinarian. She explains the problem in a way that's "owner-friendly" and provides objective information about all therapeutic measures (she can reliably answer inquiries about prices). She works with the owner to find a good solution and is always pro-horse. I have rarely seen a veterinarian who shows such empathy and takes so much time for treatment! Conclusion: Excellent for me and my horse! Absolutely reasonable value for money!

The very best vet for horses! She treats her patients lovingly but consistently with absolute competence and incredible care and foresight - always explaining and pointing out the various treatment options and their prospects of success or benefit - she stands up for her horse patients - entirely in the spirit of responsible owners - and provides full information. As a professor and specialist for legs, she would also be my first port of call for operations - she can do just about anything - teeth, osteoarthritis, musculoskeletal system, lungs, allergies.... And she always comes personally! That makes her so unique because she simply knows her patients from previous personal visits. I have been a customer for almost ten years and will continue to be - with her our horses are in the very best hands. If there were more stars than the usual five, she would more than deserve them.

After many misdiagnoses and veterinarians who didn't know what was wrong with my gelding and simply dismissed it as "that's just how he walks," I was recommended Prof. Dr. Castanjen. She was the first veterinarian who immediately recognized the problem, took me seriously, and, most importantly, examined him extremely thoroughly. Prof. Dr. Castanjen treated him incredibly thoroughly and effectively, was always helpful, and addressed our individual needs. She's a veterinarian who truly puts a lot of thought into her patients, is very good at what she does, and genuinely cares about them. I'm incredibly grateful!

Great vet! Explains everything in detail and clearly; it's nice when someone takes the time. Exceptionally professional, always helpful, cheerful, and very fond of animals. She has a lot of empathy for both humans and animals and is a real help, even in difficult situations. Simply stress-free for both animal and owner. The value for money is also very impressive! Not just unreservedly recommended, but outstanding!
