Reviews
I refused to write this review, but I really don't think it's okay. I've usually had good experiences with this practice. Our dogs feel very comfortable here, and the staff are always very friendly. However, if you're not familiar with certain animal species, you should be honest with the owners and either not accept the patients or immediately refer them to another practice. When I called, I made it very clear that my pet is a bird. It didn't seem to be a problem, as I was immediately scheduled for the next available appointment. My bird received a completely wrong diagnosis. I was told he was probably sick and needed antibiotics. I trusted Dr. Gerken and gave him the medication as we had discussed. I wasn't referred to another practice until a week later, when he was already thin. Only when he was beyond saving did the vet herself tell me that she had no idea about birds... A specialist discovered that my bird had a foreign object in his stomach and urgently needed surgery. However, we wasted too much time with Gerken; it was unfortunately too late for surgery. He didn't have enough strength and wouldn't have survived. He suffered unnecessarily and ultimately died, even though he could have had a long and happy life. It's been two months, and it still hurts so incredibly much!
Unfortunately, we had to take our dog Jack to the emergency room on a Saturday evening... the fear was so great, because we knew in our hearts that this would be our last journey with our Dicki, and we didn't know Christiane... how would it go, who would we meet, would it be hectic and/or rough - assembly line work?! ... No!! We were welcomed so warmly! Both 'ladies' were so incredibly empathetic, gave us time, and also gave us other options... we had to let our beloved Dicki go after a short battle with cancer; he shouldn't suffer anymore, not for us! A feeling of unease, that everything was new and strange there... none! Everything felt so safe and right. The two of them were so great, practically in the background, always there when needed. Jack didn't have to wear a muzzle, we were also allowed to take off his harness, all of that was really important to us at that moment! Just before our Jack fell into a deep sleep, the helper took/made two paw prints for us on her own initiative... We are so grateful for the dignified farewell we were given! No rush, no pressure, with lots of love and time! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
Thank you so much for treating my fighter cat Shorty! You guys are great! đ„°đ„°
