We've only been here twice with our rabbits so far: once to have the males neutered and once because our Jelly had a bad cold. However, since we've had some very bad experiences with other vets after moving to Wels, I simply have to express my praise here. Our rabbits were treated very gently, and the communication regarding medications, diagnoses, and the examination itself was excellent. We've given up on finding a comparable vet in Wels (one who treats rabbits with comparable care) and will therefore definitely make the longer trip to Linz in the future.
I'm really disappointed with my last visit. Paying for anal gland expression is perfectly normal and absolutely fine. However, what I can't understand is that I was also charged €31 for a consultation – without my dog even being examined. Just because he glanced at my Chihuahua's paw for two seconds, I was charged €31 for a consultation? It wasn't mentioned beforehand that this service would be charged. It's not about the amount, but about the lack of transparency and the fact that something was simply billed without prior agreement. I find that unprofessional, and this was my last visit! Other vets are much fairer!
I rushed my dog to Dr. Zeller because he had recently ingested ibuprofen. Since my dog had vomited on the way to the vet, they only took his temperature and told me there was nothing more they could do. I was told I could get activated charcoal tablets myself. For taking his temperature and being told there was nothing else they could do, I was charged €46. Since it seemed rather odd to me that a vet would do absolutely nothing after such a high dose of ibuprofen, I thankfully went to my trusted vet shortly afterward. There, he immediately received an injection of a stomach protectant (a total of four injections spread over two days), and I was also given stomach protectors to take home. My vet explained that in such cases, stomach perforations can definitely occur if the necessary precautions aren't taken. Considering this information, and the fact that my dog was already vomiting blood during the night (despite the stomach protectant), Dr. Zeller's clueless actions are unacceptable. Dr. Zeller was quite negligent and could have ended up at my dog's expense. It's understandable not to know everything, but then it's important to admit this lack of knowledge for the patient's sake and refer them to another veterinarian. At the other vet, I paid €145 for four injections, stomach protectant, an anti-nausea injection, and a thorough explanation of the risks. I understand that every veterinarian needs to be paid for their time, not just for medication, but €46 for taking the dog's temperature and the incorrect information that nothing more could be done seems highly questionable. To end this review on a more positive note, Dr. Zeller is very friendly and always takes his time with his patients. Even a veterinarian isn't infallible, but since this exceptional situation was completely underestimated and could have ended very badly, this review is necessary.
He's very friendly with our beloved pets; we've been going to him for 10 years! Although his prices may seem a bit high, he genuinely cares!
the very best vet, has diagnosed illnesses in two of my cats incredibly quickly and easily and has also received praise from my cat's new vet that he must be really good :) It doesn't matter what price you pay
