Reviews
For over 10 years, Mr. Lorenz has wonderfully cared for our dogs. Now he is helping me with a difficult decision and, after a month of struggling, is putting one of my dearly beloved dogs, who is now 15.5 years old, to sleep. Thank you, Mr. Lorenz.
In short, our cat came through the procedure without any problems. All our questions, not just about the procedure itself, were answered thoroughly and with ample time.
We would never go to another veterinary practice with our little family members again. Here, they practice with both heart and soul. Even though our little Paula couldn't be saved, she didn't have to suffer any more. We are very grateful for the competent, yet compassionate work.
About 15 months ago, I took my very old German Shepherd-Labrador mix, Lucky, to Dr. Lorenz's practice for an X-ray. Dr. Lorenz diagnosed him with bone cancer (osteosarcoma). His hock was severely swollen, and his hind leg was cramped and held high. Dr. Lorenz denied that there were any pain medications that could make Lucky's life easier and wanted to euthanize him immediately. I asked him this question three times. Today, 15 months later, Lucky is back on all four paws, running around the garden, full of life, and going for walks. Some of the wasted muscle has rebuilt, and his leg is relaxed. He's now undergoing months of treatment with an anti-inflammatory painkiller, which I give him once a month as a chewable tablet. During any criticism, Dr. Lorenz hangs up, and emails go unanswered. Lucky is now 13.5 years old. The cancer doesn't seem to have spread. Today, 15 months later, Lucky is back on his feet, full of life, and going for walks. He's also undergoing treatment with an anti-inflammatory painkiller, which I give him once a month as a chewable tablet. The sedation I got at the vet's office for the x-ray was so strong that I had to lift the dog out of the car by myself six hours later—not exactly fun with a 40-kilo dog. He wasn't really back on his feet until the next morning. In the end, I'm glad I listened to my gut feeling. The medication he's been getting for the last few months is called Trococyl 95 mg, and it works even better for him than Cimalgex 80.
