After our dog vomited several times, we were able to see Dr. Rammensee even on Sunday, after the emergency vet clinic had closed. During the follow-up examination on Monday morning (our dog was feeling better), the doctor recommended an X-ray as a precaution, since young dogs occasionally swallow stones. Sure enough, the X-ray revealed a stone that, due to its size, could have caused a life-threatening intestinal obstruction. Our dog had surgery that morning, and we were able to take him home this evening. He has to go back to the clinic tomorrow for IV fluids, as he's not allowed to eat or drink anything after the surgery. Excellent service, and thank you, Dr. Rammensee! 👍😊

Dr. Rammensee is the designated veterinarian for the Straubing animal shelter and therefore responsible for the health of the shelter animals. I was given a cat by the Straubing animal shelter that had a severe ear infection due to mites and diarrhea due to giardia. This wasn't apparent when I adopted her. Since I have two other cats, there was also a risk of infection. With the one promised treatment by Dr. Rammensee, which I was entitled to within a week of adoption, the cat was far from healthy, so the five subsequent treatments with my trusted veterinarian were paid for out of pocket. The real kicker, however, was that despite confirmation of a spay date in the adoption contract, the cat had NOT been spayed. It's a mystery to me how that could happen. Since the cat was in heat, my veterinarian saw unidentifiable tissue in her abdomen during an ultrasound. During the subsequent, very complex surgery, it was discovered that a large abscess had formed on the cat's uterus and that the cat had not been spayed. Had the cat been spayed, this abscess, which was a ticking time bomb in the cat's body, could not have formed in the first place, as it could have ruptured at any time. My veterinarian took photos as evidence. The entire practice team was shocked. The costs for the surgery, spaying, and follow-up treatments will not be reimbursed by either the animal shelter or Dr. Rammensee, as Dr. Rammensee cites the service agreement, which allows him two attempts to rectify any errors. I was not informed of this clause. Dr. Rammensee had already refused to complete the treatment for ear mites and giardia. Aside from that, the question arises as to how this could have worked in practice... Should I have driven the cat, which had been cut open, 60 km from the operating table to this veterinarian in Straubing so he could "correct" the procedure twice? Furthermore, animal welfare law applies when there is a risk to the animal's health, as was the case here. A disgrace to the Straubing animal shelter and Dr. Rammensee. I feel sorry for the animals treated by this veterinarian. An insult to animal welfare and even a danger to the animals!

Thank you to the entire team! Our Rico was admitted Thursday afternoon with symptoms of poisoning and had to stay overnight because his blood work was very poor and even life-threatening. We don't want to imagine what would have happened without Dr. Rammensee's immediate action and the blood transfusion. He has since recovered. Dr. Rammensee was always available on his mobile phone and made us feel that everything possible was being done to help Rico. Many, many thanks for everything from Rico and his owners 😊
