Reviews
We've been taking all our animals to Dr. Ruschig since 1988. Over the years, we've been to him very often and have always been extremely satisfied. He's very empathetic with both the animals and their owners. Even when it's time for their final journey, he's incredibly compassionate. He also makes house calls when necessary, which is very rare among veterinarians. The waiting times at the practice are also reasonable; I've sometimes had to wait up to four hours at other vets when he's on vacation. I will definitely remain loyal to him until he retires.
On the recommendation of my wife's neighbor, who lives in Schierling, we visited Dr. Ruschig's veterinary practice. Our dog has trouble with car rides. He can go straight ahead, but curves and braking at traffic lights or while driving are not his thing. He gets sick, even if it's just foam or yellow mucus, since he doesn't get anything to eat before the trip. He doesn't even want to get in the car because car rides are torture for him. Dr. Ruschig gave him a great medication that relieves the nausea and also has a sedative effect. Yesterday we had a long drive of 530 km, and our dog slept and didn't get sick. We haven't had such a relaxed drive in a long time. We also got many helpful tips from him, which we will, of course, put into practice. Since we come to Schierling quite often, and should our dog need anything again, we know who to go to. The recommendation was excellent, and we were really very satisfied and impressed by the way the doctor calmly explained everything to us.
I absolutely cannot recommend Mr. Ruschig. The positive reviews are baffling to me. I've visited his practice several times because of my cat. Unfortunately, he's often sick. Each time, he was simply given an injection of cortisone and antibiotics, along with a painkiller. That seemed to cover everything, or so I felt. No thorough examination, no blood tests or X-rays, which might have been appropriate to determine what was wrong with the animal. Furthermore, he was incredibly rough with my cat every time. I've now switched veterinarians!
My parents used to come here all the time and only had good things to say. Unfortunately, my experience wasn't so great when I was there with my puppy. I wanted to do a quick puppy familiarization session, just a short look, then leave. Since she was very small, I had a carrier bag for her. She accepted it, but it always took her a while to go in. Apparently, it took too long because the vet grabbed her and "stuffed" her in. He cut my guinea pigs' claws so short that they bled a lot and squealed. I was very disappointed and went somewhere else.
