My dog died after questionable decisions – extreme caution was required. I am writing this review with deep pain and great anger. My dog, Jente (born September 29, 2013), died on May 6, 2025, after treatment at the Emstal Veterinary Practice. As early as July 24, 2024, her blood work showed significant abnormalities, yet she was anesthetized several times – in August 2024, January 2025, and most recently on May 5, 2025. This last anesthetic was fatal. I have filed a formal complaint with the Lower Saxony Veterinary Association and compiled a comprehensive case file with lab results and invoices. I trusted this veterinarian – and that trust was bitterly disappointed. Anyone who truly loves their animal should think twice about seeking help here. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone. Addendum: No chance to say goodbye There are losses that tear you apart so deeply that words are barely enough. I stand there, paralyzed, trying to comprehend how love could vanish in an instant—stolen, not faded. My Jente should still be here. She should still be lying next to me, snoring softly, her paws twitching in her dreams. But instead, all I have left is silence—and the unbearable certainty that her end was not gentle. My beloved dog trusted the hands that should have protected her. She trusted me when I handed her over. And I trusted a veterinarian whose actions remain incomprehensible to me to this day. She was anesthetized three times—despite blood work that, in my view, clearly spoke against it. She didn't survive the last anesthesia. A part of me died with her. There was no gentle goodbye. No time to whisper in her ear how much I love her. Only shock, guilt, and the hollow echo of her name in an empty room. It's called "treatment." For me, it was the end of a life that should have been spared. I cannot forgive. And I will not remain silent—not out of hate, but because love this deep needs a voice. Jente was more than a dog. She was joy. She was light. She was family. And her death doesn't feel like fate to me—but like a bitter failure. So I write this not to find peace, but to speak her name aloud: Jente—forever loved, forever missed.

The veterinary practice responded very sensitively to our situation. Sadly, our Anni had to be put to sleep yesterday, although this was a decision made by us. They took a great deal of time for us and the situation, and Mr. Lechowicz especially gave our daughter plenty of time to say goodbye in peace. We always felt incredibly well cared for, and both the veterinarian and the staff are incredibly kind and gentle with the animals and their owners! Thank you so much for everything.

I can highly recommend the Emstal veterinary practice. Everyone greeted me warmly and helped me immediately. We had previously called another vet who told us right away on the phone that I should come in and they would give him his last injection. After that, I called Emstal and was greeted warmly on the phone and asked me to come in so they could see what they could do. Thanks to the Emstal veterinary practice, "Oreo" gets to live and go into hibernation â˜ș

As a long-time client of this practice, I unfortunately have to say that I will be seeing a new veterinarian. Due to an incident two years ago where a female dog had surgery at this practice, and after a second opinion from another veterinarian, it was determined that the surgery wasn't quite right. Of course, we brought this up at the follow-up appointment, along with X-rays from an orthopedic surgeon, and still allowed the second surgery (plate and screws removed) with the hope that it would happen. Of course, anything can happen, and as the vet also pointed out, there's no guarantee that she'll ever walk normally again. We only hoped that her mobility could be improved. I took the advice and have been to physiotherapy regularly, but limitations still exist. The surgery alone cost me €2400. When we went to the other veterinarian and explained everything, he said he wouldn't have charged even half that and would have used different screws to fix the fracture, as the original screws were too long. It's worth noting that there are also different types of X-rays. Of course, there are also different types of X-rays. I was there again for a booster shot and spent almost 20 minutes discussing things with a new veterinarian – Ms. Toimbetova. I repeatedly told the vet that the vaccinations listed in the pet passport should be administered, only the essential ones, as I've had my own experiences and don't want to overload my dog with too many shots. The receptionist was very nice and understood my point, so she also spoke to the vet. The vet acted in her own self-interest and said that administering the other vaccination would be pointless. After answering all questions and confirming that the dog was healthy, in top condition, and had no complaints, the vet began examining him from head to toe. All well and good, but charging almost €33 for that seems quite unfair. The vaccination itself only costs €5.81, and the total bill is €66. The receptionists and assistants are incredibly courteous and friendly! ... They always answer all questions in a friendly manner. For future surgical procedures and treatments, we will consult a veterinarian who acts professionally, empathetically, and with the well-being of both the animals and their owners in mind. Thank you!
