The place was dirty first of all. The doctor himself had shaking hands while he took care of my cat. I don't want to say that he is a bad doctor BUT in my opinion he should might just retire....
Yesterday I burned three fingers with boiling hot water. I immediately applied the brassifinol ointment and within 10 minutes the pain and redness were gone! I'll wait and see how it feels next time and will report back. Thank you, Mr. Knafl.
The veterinary practice is very simply furnished, yet equipped with everything you need. Dr. Knafl treated our cat, whom we adopted from the animal shelter, after he suddenly developed a severe case of feline herpesvirus (feline rhinotracheitis). Dr. Knafl is always available and was able to save our beloved cat with just a few treatments – including inhalation therapy to clear his nose. Dr. Knafl is a very competent, patient, and calm veterinarian whom I will gladly return to should the need arise. Five stars from me!
Unfortunately, you have to give at least one star to write a review. I called Mr. Knafl on a Friday (during regular opening hours) about my 13-year-old dog because she couldn't stand, was confused, and was clearly experiencing neurological problems. He told me there was no point in coming in, as he didn't currently have an X-ray machine. When I asked him to examine the dog anyway, since she wasn't injured and therefore an X-ray wasn't necessary, I was brushed off with the explanation that he wasn't even in his office. I have the utmost respect for such a lack of empathy and arrogance towards desperate pet owners and their animals in need of medical help. He can probably afford to be so arrogant. Kohl probably doesn't care – he should be his only target audience from now on.
We took our two cats to this practice because we suspected worms or parasites in their fur. We had to act quickly, and this veterinary practice was the only one open in the area at the time. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The vet, an elderly gentleman, made little effort to examine our cats thoroughly. We had to restrain them ourselves, and a thorough examination was not performed. Instead, we were simply given worm tablets and told they were worms, without a clear diagnosis or further examination. That same day, we discovered a deep, hidden wound under the fur that the vet had completely overlooked. The next day, it turned out that our cat had a high fever of 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) due to this wound. She urgently needed to be treated by another veterinarian. There was no sign of worms, by the way. We paid €55 for this short visit and the tablets. Even though medication can be expensive, as a concerned cat owner, I felt quite alone in this situation and, to be honest, a little exploited. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this practice. Anyone who truly wants to help their pet should look for other, more caring care.
