I had a rescue dog with a hospital-acquired infection. Reserve antibiotics only helped to a limited extent, the vaccines (made from his specific infection) were largely ineffective, and bacteriophage therapy brought improvement. Only after 3-4 weeks of 5-day courses of specific globules was his immune system able to overcome Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
