Many thanks to the clinic team! Our severely lame young dog had successful surgery here. A significant difference in his gait was noticeable immediately after the operation. He is visibly better (without painkillers). We are very glad we chose this clinic. Even the way our sometimes hyperactive Labrador was handled was appropriate and professional. Absolutely a top-notch surgical center! We came on the recommendation of a veterinarian who had his own dog operated on there. That speaks for itself. P.S.: We were initially a bit hesitant because of some of the reviews. However, it's understandable that you have to pay for the service. I don't think it's fair to base negative reviews on that, given the truly excellent work. The price-performance ratio is reasonable and not at all excessive compared to other clinics.

My husband went to this practice yesterday on the recommendation of our vet, just like nine months ago when he also had a cruciate ligament tear. One star is actually far too generous. During the initial examination, they took an x-ray that cost €500 – completely excessive. My dog ​​was even insulted there, called a freak, and I'm not letting someone like that perform surgery on my dog. Yesterday, the vet didn't even properly examine my dog ​​and simply said he had a cruciate ligament tear, meniscus damage, and tibia damage requiring surgery, and wanted to take another x-ray. We drove 80 km there for absolutely nothing. We then said no, we weren't going because the surgery would also cost €2200-€2500. So today we went to a different clinic that's closer to us, and they examined the dog properly right away. An x-ray costs about €50 there, and they don't put the dog under anesthesia just for the x-ray. The surgery is also €800 cheaper. After reading the reviews here, I'm glad we didn't go to those other vets.

We received incredibly fast help! My dog ​​had choked on a bone, and we were able to come in immediately as an emergency patient. He was examined very thoroughly to make sure nothing was stuck. Both the assistants and the vet were incredibly kind, empathetic, and competent. Many thanks for the quick and professional help – we felt we were in excellent hands!

Our 4-year-old Leo suffered a torn cruciate ligament in his right leg, likely due to genetics. Initially, it seemed to go unnoticed, and it wasn't until Leo was mostly walking on three legs that alarm bells started ringing. Our vet referred us to the Reif Animal Clinic, which meant a longer drive for us. But it was worth it. The surgery costs, including x-rays, nearly knocked us off our feet at €3,200, but Leo came through it all well. The clinic is very modern, equipped with high-tech equipment, and the staff is incredibly friendly. I'd especially like to commend "Gaby" at reception. Our attending veterinarian, Dr. Steffen Perret, also made a fantastic, highly competent impression. He took his time, explained everything in detail, and was very polite! It couldn't have been better; we felt we were in excellent hands. We were initially put off by the seemingly complex and elaborate surgery involving sawing, twisting, and screwing bones together with plates... but Dr. Dr. Perret answered our questions clearly and comprehensively, largely allaying our fears. So far, we are absolutely satisfied with the surgical outcome, although Dr. Perret did warn us that the cruciate ligament on the other side could tear at any time. We are not insured. In conclusion: The Reif Veterinary Clinic was truly excellent; the staff is friendly and, above all, highly competent. The treatment was expensive, but what is cheap these days? Dr. Perret also explained to us thoroughly and honestly how the injury would affect him immediately, later, and in the future if we didn't want surgery… it wasn't an easy decision, as the doctor described our situation, or rather our dog's, completely objectively. The consultations about anesthesia, risks, medications… right up to follow-up treatments, additional examinations, physiotherapy… were very thorough and easy to understand; no questions remained unanswered. While we don't want to subject Leo to another surgery, we can absolutely recommend Dr. Reif's Veterinary Clinic for this type of orthopedic procedure with a clear conscience.
