Tierklinik Düsseldorf

Mixed impression / result. Had to visit them several times with my small dog. Availability, speed, service, tidiness was ok also weekends. Got the reports also in time as well as the pictures and the needed confirmations after my dogs dead. This part was very professional. But results of the investigations were simply wrong, until the very end. The last consultation resulted in a "blocked nose" but we agreed that this could not be the cause of his condition. I ordered the MRT, was not possible same day. I have to say that the younger doctors were wrong in their diagnosis as well in their capability to ask for support from experienced colleagues. Cannot judge if by default. But nearly no guidance, he even has not checked the history of my dog and the results sent already by my house doctor, who transferred us to the Tierklink as his treatment failed to show results. Downside is as well that not all specialists are available all days. Visited same day a eye-specialist outside the clinic, which did a proper (expensive) job but then it was getting clearer: He suffered a neurological problem and a MRT has to be conducted to identify the cause. Not just an recommendation. No: a must! Honestly, this I would have expected from the Tierklinik. It ended up in the MRT next day after an awful night and he has not made it. Damage was severe and we had a very intensive talk with the specialist in the Tierklinik, who explained the situation very good (and was not for money, so my impression) and we decided to let him go. Summary: If it is something severe your point of view, ask for a second opinion. I totally accept that they have to earn money, that young doctors do the first investigation, but allow them to ask for second view. Also have to say: The result would have been the same, but the way to separate from him would have been more controlled. Have to add as well, that three other doctors were also not able to see the right problem, to focused on infections and took for granted if he eats, drinks has no fiber = no severe problem. One was very experienced, but somehow "blind" on the neurological side.

This vet clinic has a bird department and 24/7 service. Technically well equipped. I brought in several rescue corvids (jackdaw, magpie and carrion crows) some in seriously bad shape and at night. They all have survived because of the very motivated vets. Thank you very much Drs. Straub, Ayuningtyas and Elsayed. Since I see some people badmouthing this clinic because of invoices: A vet is a highly skilled professional not much different from a human physician and uses the same high tech instruments such as xray and MRI. How do you expect the invoice to be very different?

Was there on a Saturday after hours emergency visit as Rousey had a bloated stomach and in severe pain. Luckily it was just gas. Staff was pretty friendly and was able to communicate in English as my Deutsch is still crap. It did take a bit of time to be seen but there were quite a few other animals and seemingly only one vet. But would use again for emergency.

Special thanks to Nada Twito. My dog had a seizure and it was one of the scariest moments for us. The team responded immediately with such care and kindness. We are truly grateful for their professionalism and empathy

It was very crowded and chaotic; Extremely expensive; I stayed there from 10:30 PM to 2:00 AM without solving the problem.
