I've been taking my cat here for years and couldn't imagine a better vet. You can immediately tell that they work with a lot of experience and genuine love for animals. My cat is always treated calmly and gently, which gives me, as her owner, a great sense of security. I also feel I'm in excellent hands professionally; everything is explained clearly, and they take their time. For me, it's definitely the best place to go! 👍

I visited this clinic twice with my rabbit, and both experiences were absolutely terrible. I strongly urge all rabbit owners to stay away. Overall – the doctors are rude, the waiting area is loud and chaotic (very stressful for animals), and the receptionist, Hannes, is disrespectful. 13.06.2025 – My rabbit was diagnosed with uterine cancer through X-ray and ultrasound. I was told by Michelle Alt the ultrasound results couldn’t be released because the machine was “broken.” The doctor advised against surgery due to my rabbit’s age (6.5 years) and prognosis. 11.11.2025 – My rabbit stopped eating and became very lethargic. Another vet recommended an urgent operation and arranged an emergency appointment at 13:00. At the first appointment, the kind doctor Eisenblätter said the plan was to perform a spay and tumor removal, keep my rabbit under 24-hour clinic monitoring, and then release her the next day and mention risks to be high. After the operation, I came back at 18:00 to ask about her condition after operation. Another doctor, Hofmann, was extremely rude and dismissive—answering my normal, concerned questions with sarcasm and a smirk while barely paying attention while finishing her station. I also learned that the promised “24-hour clinic monitoring” actually meant taking the rabbit home to the random vet after surgery, with no overnight supervision or proper facilities. This was completely different from what I had been told. Also, she kept blaming me for not bringing the rabbit to surgery earlier when the tumor was smaller, which is totally contradicting from advice fro mthe doctor from the SAME clinic. The next morning, I was informed my rabbit had passed away during the night while vet was sleeping. When I came to the clinic, I waited an hour for an explanation and release of the body. When I tried to settle the payment, I mentioned I didn’t have an EC card; they became angry and refused to release my rabbit’s body, not even asking if I had cash or a VISA card. The overall experience was marked by rudeness, chaos, misleading information, and poor animal care and just for money attitude. Due to the misdiagnosis and false claim of 24-hour monitoring, I will be filing a complaint with the Tierärztekammer. Please stay away from this clinic. P.S another error by them - they almost operated a companion rabbit to a sick one, they shaved his ear to insert cateter and only told me after i asked why his ear shaved, so they almost operated a perfectly healthy companion rabbit t

I've been taking my cat to the Alstertal Animal Clinic for quite some time now and feel very well cared for there. We've always received competent and compassionate help. You can tell that they work with a lot of experience and heart, which is incredibly important when it comes to your pet. I'd especially like to highlight the super nice and friendly team. You're taken seriously, everything is explained clearly, and you get the feeling that they really take their time. However, I have to say that the prices have risen dramatically in recent years. That's not easy, of course, especially when several treatments are needed. Nevertheless, the excellent care and professional expertise outweigh the cost for me. Many thanks to the whole team for the wonderful work with my cat.
