Reviews
We feel that our dog is in the best possible hands with Ms. Walther. The vet impresses with her empathetic, calm, and yet highly competent manner. The friendly and caring support of her assistant also contributes to making every visit pleasant and stress-free. Highly recommended!
It's not easy for me to write this review – but after a year and a half, I finally have the strength to talk about my experience with Dr. Walter. I was a patient of hers for over three years with my two dogs – and looking back, I have to say: that was a grave mistake. My beloved dog died at only six years old – from anemia and protein loss through his kidneys. Neither of these conditions went undetected for over a year and a half, even though I repeatedly pointed out that he was losing weight, lethargic, and in pain. A simple blood test – standard procedure for persistent symptoms – was never recommended or performed by her. Instead of a thorough diagnosis, I was constantly fobbed off with sales pitches for expensive food, supplements, and medications, which later proved to be completely unnecessary. With my other dog, I was told in a somber tone that it could be a tumor – which later turned out to be a harmless fatty growth. Fear was the driving force here – not care. Even basic examinations – like the simple pressure test on the gums to check blood flow – were never performed. As a layperson, I pointed out many changes, but I was neither taken seriously nor systematically examined. The consequences came far too soon – at an animal hospital that could only confirm death. I strongly advise every pet owner to avoid this practice and instead seek out a veterinarian who truly acts in the best interests of the animals – and not in the interest of making a sale. I now go to a veterinarian in Rahlstedt who is not only highly competent but also engages in conversation without immediately charging for every question – a true animal lover, just as one hopes. I am writing this review not out of anger, but out of grief – and the desire that other animals may have longer, healthier lives through better care.
I've been taking our animals there for decades. I've never felt that the best possible care wasn't provided for each patient. Dr. Walter examines all her patients thoroughly and offers very clear and understandable advice. The focus here isn't on making a sale, but on the animal's health. Whether it's a gerbil, budgie, dog, or dwarf rabbit... they all receive excellent care. The veterinary assistants have also been with the practice for many years. The vet and assistants are always a great team, complementing each other perfectly. Thank you for the many excellent services you've provided for my animals since 1987!
I was in Hamburg for two months for work, and my ten-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd urgently needed to see a vet due to an emergency. Because of the good reviews and the short distance, I went to Ms. Walter. It was a very good decision! Ms. Walter is a very competent and incredibly friendly veterinarian who takes her time and is extremely attentive to each dog. She explains everything very precisely and clearly. I wish I had such a great veterinarian in Berlin.
