I visited this practice with my dog for the first time on July 9th. The phone call was friendly, and the appointment was scheduled at short notice – that was straightforward and a positive experience. However, despite having an appointment, we had to wait quite a while at the practice itself. This can happen, but it still surprised me since we arrived on time. The treatment itself left me with mixed feelings. I had mentioned that a particular nasal ointment had been very helpful for my dog in the past, but this was barely addressed. Instead, a different medication was prescribed. When I asked what exactly it did and whether it was a better alternative, I received no satisfactory answer. The blood sample was taken from my dog's front leg, which caused him considerably more anxiety. From experience, I know that taking the blood from his hind leg would have been less stressful, but this wasn't considered. The bill came to approximately €200, broken down into a €90 consultation fee, a €48 dermatological examination, €49.20 for the blood draw, and a €15 prescription fee. This isn't unusual, but the price is on the higher end. It was somewhat confusing that the VAT was only added at the end. While technically correct, this was perplexing from a customer's perspective, as most people can't deduct VAT anyway. The biggest issue concerned the follow-up: According to the lab, the results were ready on July 11th, but the veterinary practice didn't call back until July 17th, four business days later. In our case, the test was positive. A follow-up test could have been done directly on the same sample. When I contacted the lab, I was told that the sample had already been disposed of. According to our regular veterinarian, this happens very quickly. This delay would have necessitated a second blood draw, causing additional stress for my dog and further costs for me. Overall, it wasn't a good experience for us. We won't recommend this practice and won't be returning.
I took our two rabbits to Dr. Krestan. He was competent and empathetic. As a newcomer to rabbit keeping, I felt well-advised and was able to ask questions. The diagnosis and recommended treatment for the eye inflammation were correct and effective. Thank you! I found the fee charged to be reasonable.
I've been taking my cats to him for many years, and he's helped us several times, even offering appointments at short notice. His team is also fantastic.
We've been going to him since 2015, and he's saved my cat's life several times because he has chronic pancreatitis and a whole host of other problems. It might seem expensive and excessive at first glance, but he really does the blood tests and everything else with the best intentions.
Our cat had an infection at the base of her tail. Dr. Krestan made an appointment for us promptly and easily and removed the abscess. The vet was friendly and compassionate, and very careful with our cat. She's now well again, and we would go back to Dr. Krestan anytime.
