Reviews
Dr. Waage and her entire team are fantastic. They take their time with both the animal and the owner. My dog had severe gastroenteritis. They saw him immediately and treated him perfectly. Dr. Waage knows what she's doing.
I've been a patient of Dr. Waage since my dog was a puppy, and we can only say positive things about her. From her easy accessibility by phone and her friendliness to her professional expertise, everything is perfect for us!
My dog Chanelle is in the best hands here; everyone is super friendly and empathetic. I've trusted this practice for years.
was emaciated, my daughter brought her sick cat to the practice. She had rescued the cat as a feral cat from an animal shelter, and it has now been able to live a wonderful life in freedom on our farm for several years. After initially estimating the cost of treatment at €210, the practice subsequently charged just under €400 for the diagnosis, i.e., for a blood draw with sedation, without prior consultation. The result was a trivial diagnosis based on the blood work, that the cat was terminally ill and would have to be put down in a few weeks. A veterinarian friend subsequently commented that the kidney defect could have been identified by the specific odor and that the diagnosis was inadequate. A simple ultrasound, for example, was also not considered. In order to subsequently find a compromise regarding the extremely high bill, we were referred to the manager. So a phone call was made with a request to reconsider the case, regarding the discrepancy between the cost estimate and the invoice, as well as appropriate treatment. During this phone call, we received only contradictory answers and showed no willingness to find a compromise. They even threatened to call a lawyer if we wrote a bad review. In my opinion, that's completely unacceptable, and I won't allow myself to be intimidated by threats. Mistakes happen; we're all human, but it's also part of being human that we approach each other, reflect on our behavior, and, even if it's sometimes difficult, be willing to compromise. I find this business practice of extorting €400 from a young girl who receives pocket money and rescued a wild cat from an animal shelter without prior consultation very disappointing, and therefore unfortunately can't write a good review. In any case, I remember how great our vet in Heroldstadt is. For example, they only charge €20 for sedation. This allows me to truly appreciate her qualified work and the comparatively extremely affordable treatments. I hope the practice finds a way to achieve more empathy and cost-transparent working practices.
Dr. Waage and her team always treat our animals with exceptional care and have provided them with competent and reliable treatment for many years. When our two cats, Barney and Callas, developed significant health problems at the ages of 16 and 18, respectively, we were grateful for the empathetic advice they offered. While they always presented all diagnostic and therapeutic options, they left the decision about which measures were truly appropriate entirely up to us, without any pressure. With our current cats, we didn't hesitate to return to the veterinary practice at Kuhberg.
