Reviews
When you take all your cats to the same vet for years, it speaks volumes. We especially appreciate the loving, calm, and patient way she treats the animals. Dr. Virchow takes her time with every examination and answers all questions thoroughly. Scheduling appointments is straightforward, and we always get one promptly. Billing is fair and transparent, and we're never pressured into unnecessary services that our pet doesn't need. We feel we're in excellent hands here and can recommend the practice 100%! Thank you for the wonderful care!
I'm absolutely thrilled with this vet! You can immediately tell how calm and pragmatic she is with my dog. Exactly what we need. I feel especially well cared for when it comes to anything related to her eyes. Dr. Virchow wrote her thesis on eye tumors in dogs and cats. She provides excellent preventative care and consultations and immediately diagnosed my dog's eye condition, something others couldn't. Thank you so much!
I recently took my one-year-old Maine Coon cat to this vet because he has an inverted eyelid. After a brief examination, the vet was certain that his right eye would have to be removed, claiming there was extensive necrosis and that surgery would be extremely expensive, costing several thousand euros. Since I couldn't quite understand what the vet was trying to tell me, I sought a second opinion from a specialist at an animal hospital. I've worked as a caregiver for many years and have often dealt with necrosis in humans. When she tried to show me the supposed necrosis, I couldn't see any at all, which made me suspicious. At the animal hospital, I was then unsurprisingly told that both eyes were healthy and that only the eyelids needed correction. If I had trusted this, I would have been scheduled for surgery and the eye would have been removed without any medical justification. Conclusion: Absolutely not recommended. It's sad that such diagnoses are made so carelessly. ABSOLUTELY NEGLIGENT. If you love your animals, you'd better find a competent veterinarian. Thanks for nothing!
Since all veterinarians were closed between the holidays and even the emergency veterinary service was unavailable, we called Dr. Virchow's practice, as it seemed to be the only one open. The reason for our call was our dog, who had eaten something unknown from the street and was vomiting repeatedly, with suspected poisoning. On the phone, we were brushed off and shown no interest in our situation. We were simply referred to the emergency veterinary service, even though it was unavailable. It seemed as if they didn't want to spoil their holiday mood. I wish this practice all the worst.
For many years, I have entrusted my animals to Dr. Virchow. She is a dedicated and experienced veterinarian whose actions are always guided by the animal's well-being – often even beyond office hours. She treated my cat, who suffered from cancer, with great expertise and empathy. Thanks to her persistent efforts, he is still alive today. Her calm and sensitive approach inspires trust in both animals and their owners. I have consistently had excellent experiences with her and wholeheartedly recommend her.
