It was a real emergency with our cat, and we received immediate, compassionate, and expert care. Dr. Hussong treated our cat calmly and efficiently, explained each step, and left us feeling well cared for and relieved. The entire team was very kind and helpful.

Since my wife's review is to be removed, I feel compelled to share our experience here as well: One of our rabbits died unexpectedly, leading us to suspect a lack of vaccination. After a quick look at the vaccination records and some research on the different vaccines (about 5-10 minutes), we discovered that, unfortunately, the rabbits had been vaccinated incorrectly for some time and were missing RHD-2 protection. We made an appointment at the Hussong veterinary practice, specifically requesting an RHD-2 vaccination. We were already clients at that time and dismissed the incomplete vaccination as "carelessness," wanting a booster shot as quickly as possible. At the practice, it was repeatedly confirmed that the rabbits were now vaccinated against RHD-2. At home, we checked the vaccination records again and were unpleasantly surprised to find that the rabbits had once again been vaccinated incorrectly, or rather, that a vaccine had been chosen that does not protect against RHD-2. We subsequently contacted the practice by email and telephone. The incorrect vaccination was dismissed as a minor oversight and not a problem. A free booster shot was offered, but we declined. Online sources advise against administering two vaccinations in quick succession, and we also wanted no further contact with this practice. In my opinion, a veterinarian should be familiar with basics like vaccinations and their effectiveness, especially for a fairly common pet. The fact that we are now also being accused of defamation completes the picture of this practice.

I took my birds to this practice for several years and initially felt very well cared for. I particularly appreciated Dr. Hussong's empathetic approach and his extensive experience and expertise. Unfortunately, when scheduling appointments by phone (without my asking), I was never told which of the two veterinarians was on duty. I also had good experiences with Ms. Jung – however, she has a completely different manner and doesn't explain much. Furthermore, Dr. Hussong is the avian specialist, and for that reason alone, it should be stated in advance whether he is available – especially when the patients are birds. For about six months now, the situation has changed. Last June, one of my birds died, and I couldn't get an appointment that same evening, even though I had mentioned on the phone that it was very urgent. A few weeks later, I brought another bird to the practice that had been sleeping for days. During the visit, I was told that the little female bird had no abnormalities. I was very relieved. A few months later, this bird also became seriously ill and has since died. My request to attempt further treatment was denied. Of course, I don't know if anyone could have even identified the problem during the initial visit. I understand that birds are not easy patients, as they are very good at hiding their suffering. In August, I brought a relatively young bird with liver problems to the practice, who had already been receiving treatment from Mr. Hussong for some time. He seemed to be doing worse than in previous months. I was told he actually looked quite well—shortly afterward, he died completely unexpectedly. No veterinarian can "see inside" an animal—but even in this case, I would have appreciated better advice. Another similar case, like the one described above, followed a few weeks ago. In November, a relatively harmless diagnosis was made, but now the little bird is gone. I don't know what to do if another bird becomes ill. Perhaps it would be an option to bring a second avian veterinarian into the practice. Regarding the reviews from other pet owners, I have the impression that critical reviews may have been deleted. When I looked at the ratings a few years ago, the picture was more nuanced. The goal shouldn't be to get "5 stars" every time. Every nuanced review is well-intentioned—just like mine.

I've been taking my animals to Dr. Hussong for many years now. Whether it's budgies, wild birds, my dog Kim, and now my husky Pola. For me, no other practice is an option. The animals are handled with great care. The advice and explanations are excellent. They take their time for the animals and for the anxious person with them. 🫣 Dr. Jung is also a very competent veterinarian whom I trust completely. Thanks also to Ms. Steiner for her consistently excellent advice.

Finally, a doctor who is very knowledgeable about birds, is also empathetic, and takes his time. He shares the joy of seeing the animal improve—simply empathetic. The entire team is fantastic, starting with the warm welcome. Thank you so much for that.
