I came across Dr. Schön by sheer chance, having already been through a few vets who just shrugged their shoulders 🤷🏻♀️. There was already a noticeable change in his gait on the first day after the gold acupuncture. The appointment almost didn't happen. I had sent Dr. Schön the ultrasound images of the liver and spleen tumors from October 2022 beforehand. Then, on Sunday, she sent me a voice message saying she hadn't slept well for two nights because the tumors weren't exactly small—a size that was causing her a lot of anxiety about the gold acupuncture and the tumors. I take my hat off to her honesty 👒🎩 Gold acupuncture can stimulate tumor growth. However, so can constant stress from pain. She didn't know me yet and, of course, had no idea that I had already considered all of this. A shorter, but largely pain-free life is more important to me for Ginger than a longer life where she can barely manage to walk along the country lane. So we discussed this on the phone and went ahead with the appointment for gold acupuncture. Ginger first received a sedative injection in her bottom and then fell asleep quite quickly. She received gold in her hip, knee, and both front and back feet. She also had hyaluronic acid injected into her hip joint. Dr. Schön said that was a bit tricky because her hip is already so misaligned, but she managed it. And she also received wheal therapy. This is a treatment she would normally do before gold acupuncture, but it involves injecting into about 30 points, and it has to be repeated within a few days. Unfortunately, this isn't possible with Ginger while she's conscious. Therefore, she did the wheal injections today to ensure everything possible was done to alleviate the pain. And the repetition is no longer necessary 🤷🏻♀️ She also treated the sores on Ginger's feet that had developed from her uneven paw placement while walking, caused by hip pain. I can wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Schön's practice! I'm so glad I found her 💕 Now we'll see what other changes occur. For me, it would already be a success if Ginger starts placing her feet more straight again.
It's a very nice clinic and very nice people stuff inside this clinic and they help a lot and we do whatever things for your animals
I am forever grateful for Dr. Schön. Because of her we have a little more time with our beloved Shi-Shi. When all other vets said there was nothing they could do, Dr. Schön said our little cat had more life to live and operated on her with extreme skill and expertise. No longer in pain, at 15 years old Shi-Shi was playing like a kitten yesterday. We are enjoying every day we have left with her even when she disrupts my German studies for attention. 🥰
Seven months ago, my Labrador, Coco, had gold implants inserted. Coco already had severe arthritis in both elbows and early-stage spondylosis at the age of three. Basically, all her joints weren't in good condition. Long walks were impossible. I was able to get an appointment at short notice and immediately felt very well cared for. The staff were very friendly, and the veterinarian was highly competent and took excellent care of my dog before, during, and after the surgery. Coco has been able to walk pain-free since day one. Her gait has improved accordingly, so we can finally go on longer hikes. Coco is now four and moves around accordingly. Thank you so much for everything.
Our Airedale Terrier was cared for by Dr. Schön and her team for over ten years. Throughout that time, we always felt we were in excellent hands – both our dog and ourselves. Dr. Schön provided our dog with holistic care and extensive experience. She always knew exactly which treatments were still appropriate, even in her old age, and which were not. We greatly appreciated this honest and responsible advice. Right up until our dog's last breath, the entire practice supported us with great empathy and professionalism. We sincerely thank Dr. Schön, Ms. Voss, and the entire team for their loving care, expertise, and compassion over the years – we couldn't have wished for better veterinary care.
