It's been a few years, but I still want to share my experience. The vet was recommended to me by an acquaintance, which in retrospect I can only attribute to his (in my opinion, unpleasant) "charming" manner. I went there because of the geographical proximity and the special opening hours. He didn't believe me that my cat had an abscess and prescribed homeopathic remedies several times. Since homeopathy had helped me as a child, I wasn't initially opposed to it. However, I had a bad feeling because there was no improvement and I didn't feel like I was being taken seriously. After several visits, during which I repeatedly shelled out €50 for ineffective remedies, she had to undergo emergency surgery and be spayed because the vet finally diagnosed her with a purulent uterine infection. After several hours of surgery (which sounded like a horror movie from the waiting room – it was late at night, and he was listening to classical music while the surgical instruments clanged), he placed a small pile of cat debris on the table and said that if she didn't survive, I wouldn't have to pay for the operation. I am so incredibly grateful that she survived and is still perfectly healthy to this day. However, this is entirely thanks to my love and care. I see from the reviews that this veterinarian is highly polarizing, and I hope that my review can help concerned pet owners make a good decision for themselves. I also hope that he retires soon.
When a veterinarian adopts their own pets from an animal shelter, it speaks volumes about their professional attitude (calling). Dr. Frötscher is an excellent diagnostician with extensive experience and a keen therapeutic touch. His small but well-equipped practice (e.g., immediate blood tests, X-rays) is state-of-the-art. You and your pets truly feel very well cared for in this practice. There's no mass processing here! Appointments are always kept. We highly recommend this empathetic veterinarian.
Highly recommended veterinarian, very loving in his handling of all kinds of animals. He usually recommends a more thorough examination at the VetMet before euthanasia, which is how I got another year of life out of my cat with heart disease.
Competent, friendly, and does home visits. Not a happy occasion but if you need a vet - he's the man.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Frötscher. Ten years ago, we brought our Labrador, Wesley, then just an adorable puppy, to him for his first vaccination. We had to say goodbye to him some time ago. And throughout all these years, Dr. Frötscher was always there for us, providing medical care and advice, and—something that is far from commonplace in today's world—offering genuine human support. Always available, always helpful, not only as an attentive doctor but also as a kind-hearted friend. Thank you, Dr. Frötscher, and I wish you all the best in your personal and professional life!
