We had to visit him during our vacation due to severe allergy of our dog. He was very competent and kind. We got a powerful medication which helped to improve the condition of our dog immediataly. I can only recommend him and I wish if we could have him in Vienna. :-)
Only the best care for our "kid with fur".
We went there with our dog to get a tapeworm tablet for our overseas journey. The clinic is quite small so when we entered the premises, another big dog under anaesthetics was laying on top of the surgery table - the vet nonchalantly said ‘oh she is asleep, don’t mind her’… Which was really awkward for me and my partner and our own dog who can obviously smell and sense something is wrong with the dog sleeping there on the table. There was no other consultation room at all and we just had to share the same area with that other dog ‘patient’. Our dog became unsettled and usually very calm and friendly around strangers and other dogs - he became wary of the vet and didn’t like being approached by him. Our dog wasn’t given a chance to sniff and check out the room first so he could get used to it because of this. The vet didn’t appropriately ‘greet’ our dog by just lowering the back of his hand to let our dog approach him first on his own pace through a positive canine understanding. He just grabbed our dog quite physically with his hands from the front when he had to examine his face closer - I nearly wanted to step in and tell him to back off - our dog got scared of him and starting crying and barking and really didn’t appreciate his direct and unfriendly approach. Which dog would like any stranger do this anyway? Clearly our dog was stressed from the whole room and atmosphere - not gonna lie, we were quite surprised to find another dog just in front of us under anaesthetics too. The vet even started clipping (shaving) that dog whilst we weren’t finished with our appointment. Dogs can sense when other dogs are ill or something off so our dog couldn’t gain the trust of the room and the new vet from the moment we had to step into that room… What if my dog now associates all vet visits with ending up under anaesthetics? Overall we found it a very strange experience compared to the professional handling from our own vet we are used to. So we are quite disappointed that our dog had to go through this. We feel quite disappointed and sad that we had to give our dog this unnecessary negative experience and we hope it doesn’t affect him negatively. No matter how small a vet clinic is, I believe it’s basic sense and respectful courtesy to not treat two stranger animals in the same room especially when my dog is wondering why the other dog looks unconscious like that?! It has been clearly a shock to him and I sincerely hope our dog is not traumatised by this horrific experience. This was exactly how you make pets scared of the vet by not providing a neutral/positive experience to them when it comes to vets. 1) Don’t handle the dogs unfriendly and physically without a proper introduction 2) Don’t treat two stranger pets in the same consultation/operation room… When one is under anaesthetics and the other one thinks wth is wrong with the other pet?!
Very friendly and accommodating veterinarians with their own practice -Tierartzt Ernst Ortner- who are good with animals and sympathetic and understanding of the owner. I was helped to take blood samples which were sent to Feragen in Salzburg. #Tierartzt Ernst Ortner, @Tierartzt Ernst Ortner, @ceciliavomschommerland, #ceciliavomschommerland
We feel completely at ease here! The team is incredibly friendly, works quickly, and demonstrates genuine competence. Our Felix was treated with so much love and care – we couldn't have imagined a better place for him. Absolutely recommendable!
