My 8-year-old gelding had to undergo surgery due to a fetlock injury. The very thought of surgery and general anesthesia is every horse owner's nightmare. At midnight, I received the wonderful call from Dr. Assmann himself, informing me that everything had gone well and I could visit him the next day. He's recovering well, and we hope to be back flying through the show jumping arena soon! I thank you from the bottom of my heart 🥰 for the fantastic work, dedication, advice, and excellent care provided by the team during his stay at the clinic!

Very positive telephone contact; my horse had urinary retention and could have come immediately. Just before loading, he had a spontaneous leak. Excellent, courteous advice and the offer to call again anytime should the retention recur. Highly recommended.

My horse arrived at Dr. Assmann's clinic late one Sunday evening a month ago with colic. This was my first visit to an animal hospital. Dr. Assmann welcomed me very warmly and helped me settle in. He then explained the entire procedure to me and let me be present, which reassured me even more. Like many others have already mentioned, I am impressed by his competence and his manner. I cannot agree with the claims that he is unfair or misanthropic. He speaks clearly, and perhaps not always pleasantly, using words that can hit an owner like a ton of bricks in such a moment. But I prefer such an honest and clear approach because then I know where I stand and can reflect on everything. Assmann Equine Clinic, Opfenbach – A Heartfelt Recommendation After much hesitation, I decided to have my gelding Dorian operated on at the Assmann Equine Clinic – and it was the right decision. I was very worried that I wouldn't see my horse alive again. However, Dr. Assmann took the time to take my concerns seriously and completely alleviate them. I was particularly touched by his offer to let me bring my mare along so that Dorian wouldn't be alone. The fact that she was even allowed to be in the recovery room – as a familiar animal by his side during a difficult moment – ​​was exceptionally thoughtful. Dr. Assmann gives his all for his patients. His passion is for animals – and it shows. The recovery progressed faster than expected, and I am completely satisfied with my horse's stay at the clinic.
