We came here for the emergency service on Sunday because our dog, 10 years old, collapsed crying. The vet brushed off the fact that dark red mucus was coming out of her back. This could be normal a few days/1/2 weeks after the heat. After a short examination, his diagnosis was: lumbago. We were a little surprised at the completely different diagnosis than we expected. Painkillers and done. In the end he recommended that we think about having our dog neutered to prevent problems in this regard, as this could cause problems more often as she gets older. (Anyway!!) The diagnosis seemed somehow wrong to me, so I went back to my vet on Monday. Because my dog continued to seem very weak and was also eating worse. She did an ultrasound and could immediately see that it was a pyometra, which had to be treated immediately and then even had to be operated on (emergency surgery to remove the uterus and ovaries). A swab confirmed the diagnosis. You can Dr. Don't blame Höfler for not doing an ultrasound because he doesn't have the equipment, but he could have taken a swab. Then he would have seen immediately that she was completely infected. We could have basically saved ourselves the money including the emergency service fee. Good thing I listened to my gut feeling!! Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this vet, even if he was friendly. Next time I would even drive further away or go straight to a larger clinic if an emergency service was necessary.
We just found a cat on the side of the road that wasn't moving its hind legs and immediately started meowing for help. Since it was the middle of the night, 3:30 a.m., I couldn't ask anyone in the neighborhood who the cat belonged to. When I called the emergency vet clinic, the man on the phone told me to just take the cat home and see a vet in the morning. When I explained that I already have two cats at home and I didn't know how they would react to another cat, he just said they'd get along. When I asked when it would be considered an emergency and we could bring the cat in, he had no answer. He just repeated that we should take the cat home. We've given the cat food and a blanket and will check on it again tomorrow morning. It's a shame that we, or rather the cat, couldn't get any help.
I was here for an emergency. Efficient and friendly doctor. He was able to help our dog and explain everything thoroughly. Thank you very much.
A very good veterinarian, in my opinion, who helped our dog a great deal. An odyssey of visits to various veterinarians and animal hospitals has finally come to an end. However, due to our dog's age, we are fortunate enough to gain a few more months without causing him unnecessary suffering. Thanks to the correct diagnosis and appropriate medication, he has a significantly better quality of life and seems to be experiencing much less pain.
Excellent veterinarian. He helped us tremendously on Sunday. Our dog suffered a deep, bleeding laceration/cut on his leg. Mr. Höfler answered the phone, even though he wasn't on call, and told us to come in immediately. We greatly appreciate his excellent treatment and his willingness to help right away, outside of regular office hours. Thank you so much, Mr. Höfler, keep up the good work!
