Sorry, but we will never call a vet like that again. Our cat has had chronic asthma since August of this year, and on top of that, she unfortunately has a bit of a cold and is sneezing. We first called the Königslutter veterinary clinic but couldn't reach anyone, so we checked the emergency vet service and found Dr. Hennig on call. My husband called him and explained the situation with our cat, including that she was currently refusing her asthma inhaler. Without even knowing our cat or examining her, he suggested we give her the inhaler again, and if necessary, we could come by and he would prepare the injection. 🤬 Nobody needs a vet like that. We didn't tell them we wanted our cat euthanized, but that we wanted her helped. We went to our vet today. Our cat received her antibiotics and cortisone again, and the statement Hennig made on the phone was beyond outrageous. Not only did we find it shocking, but everyone at our vet's office was also utterly horrified by such a statement. A little tip: if you don't want to do emergency duty on the weekend, then just don't do it!
This is the worst veterinarian ever. We wanted to go to the emergency vet today to have a rabbit put down, which isn't a big deal. We called, explained the situation, and were immediately brushed off; he said he didn't have time. If I could give negative stars, I'd definitely give him five. This person is a disaster.
On Sunday at 7:30 a.m., Ronja (a Labrador mix) tore her lower eyelid by 2 cm. Dr. Hennig pulled out all the stops to organize an assistant for the surgery. The operation went very well, excellent work, and we were able to pick Ronja up at 3:00 p.m. Dr. Hennig could easily work as a cosmetic surgeon; he stitched the eyelid so well.
What a great vet! He just tried to explain to me on the phone that today, November 3rd, 2025, is a public holiday in Helmstedt and therefore he is not giving out any information over the phone.
