Reviews
Unfortunately, I cannot confirm the almost exclusively positive comments posted here about the Drebber Small Animal Practice. Last weekend, we had an emergency with our dog. Starting around 1:00 a.m., he had severe, bloody diarrhea, frothy vomiting, and hypothermia with chills. After trying to calm our dog for about 2:30 hours, but nothing helped, we contacted our regular veterinarian by phone, who referred us to the Drebber Small Animal Practice, as they had an emergency service on weekends. Ms. Frydrck-Lübke answered the phone at 3:30 a.m., and I described the above problem to her. In response, I was told that dogs can sometimes have stomach problems and was advised to wait and see if anything went wrong. ``` They didn't ask me what kind of dog it was or how old it was, which gave me the feeling that they weren't interested in my problem. After another 3 hours of waiting, with constant vomiting and diarrhea, our dog became increasingly weaker, so we called the practice again at 6:30 a.m. I again explained our dog's problems, that he was constantly losing fluids due to the bloody diarrhea and vomiting, and that we were very worried. Once again, I was given the impression that I should contact someone else. Statements like, "Do you have children? If so, they get sick sometimes too, so they just have to put up with it," were made, which I find very disturbing in light of the clinical picture described above. At the end of the consultation, we were told that if we absolutely wanted to come, we could arrive from 10:00 a.m. onwards, but that we should expect our dog to receive only one injection, which would cost at least €250.00-300.00. I can't say whether Ms. Frydrck-Lübke was simply having a bad day or if this was the norm, but I found my experience with her to be very negative, so we contacted another veterinarian with an emergency service, where we were taken seriously and received immediate help.
For me, she's the best diagnostician in the area. She's always very accurately identified the causes of my cats' problems, issues that other vets had overlooked. Always kind and, above all, honest, which can be uncomfortable for some pet owners when it comes to their beloved animal family member. This shows that the animals' well-being is her top priority and takes precedence over what the owner might prefer to hear. It's the only right way. Because of this, I always have confidence that problems won't be downplayed just so the pet owner can go home satisfied, at the animal's expense. Of course, we all want our beloved pets to always be healthy. But the reality is that any living being can get sick, and then I always wish for honest, empathetic, and expert advice and treatment like that offered at the Drebber Small Animal Clinic.
Heart in the right place 💝... - Competence and empathy are top priorities! I love taking our animals there - you know what to expect, you ALWAYS get help, and the animals are superbly cared for 👌 A definite recommendation for anyone looking for the best for their loyal companions! I honestly can't understand the 1-2 star reviews here 🤨
I took my dog to the veterinary practice for a rabies booster. I trusted that when I specifically asked for the rabies booster, it would be understood, especially since I had told two different people. I was disappointed at the practice when, in addition to the rabies booster, two other vaccinations were included, and instead of paying the price for just the rabies booster, I had to pay significantly more because the other vaccinations were added without my request.
