Reviews
We were passing through and our guinea pigs were infested with mites. We received a very warm welcome and were given excellent information. Thank you so much for the quick help! 👍
I went to Ms. Schweitzer out of necessity, as our cat was really very ill. And our regular vet has surgery on Tuesdays. My first impression when we arrived at the "practice" was that it was a basement room crammed full of old junk that reeked of oil (oil heating). The smell must have been even worse for the animals, and I already had a headache. Then it was our turn. Two incredibly friendly and seemingly competent women took care of our cat. I have no idea who the vet was; I think it was a mother and daughter. They then performed an ultrasound on Sam and took X-rays. The ultrasound was clear, but the X-ray showed a massive blockage and some kind of shadow on his lung, but we'll look into that later. The cat received an IV and two enemas. We were given special formula to feed him with a syringe and told to make sure he had plenty of extra fluids. Then it was our turn. The next day, Sam's condition deteriorated rapidly, and he wasn't using the litter box. What did we do? We rushed him to the veterinary clinic. It was a last-minute rescue. After the initial examinations, it turned out that the cat wasn't constipated; everything was normal (two enemas were given for nothing). However, his lungs were 90% filled with fluid, and he was on the verge of suffocating. After aspiration, thick pus was found. He was placed in an oxygen cage and has been receiving care at the clinic for over a week. The outcome is still uncertain. However, the completely misdiagnosis, as well as the 24 hours during which our Sam was treated entirely incorrectly, didn't improve anything and only made his condition much more critical. I never want to take an animal there again.
