Pferdeklinik am Kirchberg

My gelding had colic symptoms for three days in a row, and our vet referred us to the Kirchberg Horse Clinic. From the very first moment, I felt that my horse's well-being was being cared for with competence and heart. Colic surgery was also being considered, and I had a 25-minute phone call about it, during which I ultimately decided against surgery (despite having insurance). There, too, no attempt was made to pressure me into any decision. A gastroscopy was performed (my horse has stomach ulcers) and several other tests were performed. After seven days and many anxious hours, I was able to bring my beloved horse home yesterday. I also thought the price was very reasonable. My horse was there for four days as an intensive care patient and three days as a "normal" patient. They performed numerous tests (gastroscopy, ultrasound, blood tests, etc.), and it cost €3,100. Absolutely fantastic clinic! Empathetic care, expert treatment, and they really address the owners' questions. Thank you to the whole team for the loving care of our almost 28-year-old Fjord gelding. We are simply happy and relieved that he's doing well again after the colic and that we were able to take him home. We felt we were in excellent hands.

Colic Emergency 02/2026. We had heard only good things about this clinic before, and when we had a colic emergency, we immediately chose the Kirchberg Clinic. Upon arrival, we were helped with unloading, and two veterinarians with four assistants escorted us to the treatment room. It was immediately clear that the procedures between the veterinarians and assistants were extremely well-coordinated, and despite the emergency, the atmosphere was very pleasant and never hectic or panicky. The veterinarians spoke to us repeatedly throughout the treatment and explained the next steps. We felt safe and secure throughout the entire process and were never left alone. What we particularly appreciated was how the veterinarians handled the horse during the initial examination. They spoke to the horse calmly, observed it, and frequently praised or stroked it. We asked them to lunge our horse wearing leg wraps and bell boots. The leg wraps and bell boots were cleaned after each lunging session and placed near the radiator. The stalls and the entire facility are very clean and incredibly well-equipped. There's no hectic atmosphere, bad mood, or restlessness. The stable aisle is very peaceful, the stalls are a good size and bright, and the grooms are very calm and genuinely kind to the horses. The grooms are very friendly and approachable with the owners. When we asked when we could visit our horse, we were told we were welcome anytime. When we were finally able to take our horse home, a groom accompanied us to the trailer, and the vet took the time to answer any remaining questions. We are so glad we chose this clinic and are incredibly grateful to the entire team for helping our horse in this situation. We will definitely recommend this clinic.
