This veterinarian is absolutely not recommended because he has no interest in the animal's well-being! At my workplace, we had a dog who faithfully guarded the house and yard for years. Unfortunately, we had to decide to let him go because, at almost 14 years old and suffering from an illness, he was in agony. So, with a heavy heart, we arranged a home visit with Dr. Richter to finally relieve our loyal team companion of his pain. When he finally arrived, things apparently weren't going fast enough for him, so he quickly took his syringe, so I had to stop him just in time to position myself and my colleague, as we naturally wanted to be close to him on this sad journey. After he then rammed his fat cow syringe into his hind leg, which visibly hurt him a lot, the doctor started to burden us with small talk. I think such a moment of grief belongs to the animal and its owner. Especially since we were already shocked by the huge injection, and the fact that the dog didn't fall asleep peacefully and blissfully, but sobbed quite restlessly and gasped for air until he finally leaned to his side and thrashed there for half an hour until the last twitch passed. According to some online research, a dog receives two injections when being euthanized
the first to put him to sleep and the second to die. And a venous catheter is inserted to administer the injections as gently as possible, so that it is a smooth transition to the rainbow bridge. After all, we wanted to release him from the torment he had already endured due to his illness in his final days. Had we known, we would never have let him through the door! Highly insensitive and negligent! In my opinion, a doctor who does something like that to an animal and lets it suffocate painfully doesn't deserve his title at all! Ugh

Best vet in the Börde region! An incredibly kind and empathetic vet. No matter what your pet's issue is, he always finds the right solution quickly, competently, and reliably. His prices are absolutely fair; you rarely find that these days. You immediately notice that he's not in it for the profit, but for the well-being and speedy recovery of the animals. You and your furry friend truly feel you're in the best hands here. We'll definitely be back!

Where can you find a veterinarian who, after a quick phone call, will treat a strange little patient outside of their office hours on a Friday afternoon? Here in Schackensleben. Our cat Paula wouldn't have survived the weekend. We were scheduled for follow-up care Saturday morning. Thank you. Highly recommended!

Very nice vet. I enjoy going here and am always satisfied with him. He always has a little joke ready. We can all consider ourselves lucky to still find vets like him in small villages. Unfortunately, there won't be any village vets left eventually. It's understandable that he's not available 24/7; there are opening hours that one can adhere to. Other vets don't answer the phone after hours either.

I cannot recommend this vet. I went to him about three years ago in the spring. Since one of my rabbits had unfortunately died overnight, I wanted to have my second rabbit checked out just to make sure she wouldn't die shortly afterwards. So I took my female rabbit to the vet that afternoon. The vet only gave her a very superficial examination. A few very superficial questions were asked, and in the end I was given two bags of nutritional supplements because she had hardly eaten anything. He said she was completely healthy and I should just give her the supplement. I was allowed to leave €10 for the supplements. The next morning I went out and she, too, was lying dead in the hutch. So in my opinion, it was complete cheek to tell me she was completely healthy even though she hadn't even been properly examined. On top of that, she was handled very roughly during the examinations. She was constantly afraid and extremely tense. This visit was no help. If I had gone to a different vet, she might still be alive. Simply unprofessional and completely lacking in empathy. The main thing is to collect money for something, instead of actually focusing on the animal!!!
