Reviews
Absolutely NOT recommended. For example, I was there on a Thursday, and on Saturday my dog was so ill that I went to another emergency room, where they said his heart defect was so severe that an ultrasound was urgently needed. You can rely 100% on this practice's emergency service. When I called (6:30 a.m.), the woman told me she didn't live near the practice and that I should come at 8:15 a.m. So what's the point of an emergency service? My dog died around 7:30 a.m. in another clinic, where I had to drive 40 minutes instead of the 10 minutes to Karben. I took my other dog there for an unsuccessful cruciate ligament surgery. After two check-ups, Mr. Wagner didn't notice that he had forgotten to remove a stitch. He always put us off for a few weeks in case the dog still wasn't walking properly. I then sought a second opinion, and he now needs another surgery. No X-rays or documentation of the surgery were taken. When I asked what exactly was done (which would be important for follow-up treatment), I received no answer. The fact that a tooth was extracted during the surgery was never mentioned. I found out about it from the bill.
I took my dog to Dr. Wagner because I felt he was very unwell. He had been panting all night and was very restless. His initial reaction was, "All dogs pant in this heat." He listened to his heart and mouth and only found tartar. "Everything's fine," he concluded. An acquaintance looked in the dog's mouth at home and immediately got pus on her finger. So I made an appointment with a veterinary dentist. She was shocked. The dog's jaw was completely infected. Fourteen teeth had to be extracted and the jaw stitched up during surgery. They also detected a heart murmur because a valve wasn't closing properly. Therefore, the anesthesia had to be adjusted. Dr. Wagner didn't hear any of this when he listened to his heart! It's simply unbelievable!
Thanks to Mr. Wagner, my dog Coco died after a minor surgery because he didn't take proper care of him after the operation. When I picked him up, my dog already had a fixed stare, fluid was running from his mouth, and he had been lying on the floor in the corner, motionless, which surprised me. Mr. Wagner said everything was fine and I could take him home. When I got home, I sat next to him at his bed the whole time, talking to him, but nothing happened. After an hour, he stopped breathing, and his tongue was hanging out of the side of his mouth. I immediately called Mr. Wagner's emergency number, but no one answered. Then I went straight to the Kalbach Animal Clinic, where the doctors tried everything but to no avail. Therefore, I would definitely not recommend this veterinarian—quite the opposite. My Coco would still be alive if I hadn't visited this veterinarian. A very terrible experience for us, it is indescribable, we will mourn for a very long time.
We can only say thank you to Mr. Wagner for his highly professional and empathetic treatment! Our 13-year-old dog, Monty, had to have a growth removed from his anus. We were able to pick Monty up after just one hour, and he was already completely recovered, with the wound healing perfectly. It couldn't have been better!
