In September 2025, we took our 2.5-year-old Maine Coon, Emma, to this wonderful veterinary practice. Emma has inherited hip dysplasia and arthritis. The pain, which she unfortunately hides well, manifested itself in rolling skin, hissing at her brother, and her reluctance to let anyone touch her back. Ms. Kai Wilms and her wonderful, warm-hearted team did everything they could to ensure she became and remained pain-free. Golden acupuncture was performed, and we were even allowed to be present during the procedure. Everything was explained to us very clearly, and we felt comfortable every minute. Today we went for a check-up, and Ms. Wilms, who didn't promise any miracles but nevertheless achieved one, was herself amazed at how completely pain-free and positively transformed Emma is now. We thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for the help, support, and healing of our golden Emma and will definitely bring our male cat back for a check-up as well. Highly recommended for cats and dogs with arthritis, hip, and joint problems. And thank you again! ❣️
Hello dear team at Wilms Small Animal Practice, to me, more like a "Practice of Good Hope" Pelle and I were there last week, and it was a very emotional experience for me. We've been through so much with Pelle and tried everything imaginable to alleviate his problems with his hind leg after a torn Achilles tendon. Nothing helped. He often pulled up his leg and continued walking on three legs. This has been going on for two years, and he's "only" 7.5 years old. We went to four different practices, but none of them saw Pelle as a "whole" person, only as a "problem with his hind leg, Achilles tendon, and arthritis." Our last hope: Wilms Small Animal Practice!!! So we set out on the journey, which was quite long, but what wouldn't you do for your companion... At the appointment, we felt truly understood and accepted for the first time. A wonderful and in-depth medical history, then finally a gait analysis, where the dog not only walked across the treatment room, but even there, it was already noticed, among other things, that something was "wrong" with one of his ribs. The x-ray revealed that it was not in the right place. The dog had also been x-rayed several times before at veterinarians, where nothing had been noticed... Then came the x-ray, which I couldn't be present for. Afterward, I was allowed to be present again and witness the further treatment, experience pain points and the reactions firsthand, anesthesia and the gold treatment, how the Muscle relaxed after the gold was inserted. What was happening, or rather, that something could happen, was explained brilliantly, completely objectively and without suggestion. I could feel it myself, even though I'm actually an extremely skeptical person. In retrospect, I can only advise everyone to contact Ms. Wilms and the practice early on; I could have spared Pelle almost two years of a life of pain. It's now been 10 days since the treatment. I think I'm already seeing slight changes, but we're still in the "leash period," and time will tell. In short, thank you so much to Ms. Wilms and the team; you've done so much good for Pelle and me.
Ms. Wilms cared for our dog for years and performed two operations. Without her, he would never have reached 16 years old. Thank you for your help and your competent and loving advice until the very last day.
We were back at the practice yesterday after about a year. It was great, as always; the whole team is very nice, polite, helpful, and always honest with us. Even the call to make an appointment afterwards put me in a really good mood. It was simply lovely and uncomplicated. We've been seeing Ms. Wilms for a long time; she's been a huge help with our Great Dane, Apollo. She even called the veterinary clinic and got us an immediate appointment for his cruciate ligament tear. It's been fantastic with our OEBs, too. The dogs enjoy coming to the practice, and I think that says it all. We thank you for everything.
