Unfortunately, I've already had to take two of my horses to the Stephansmühle clinic for colic. But I can only report positive experiences with the clinic. I received daily phone calls and updates. Even late in the evening, when my mare's condition worsened, I was immediately informed. What struck me as particularly positive back then was the incredibly kind way they treated the horses. My mare is quite insecure and very fearful of new things. I was sitting in the waiting area during the examination and only heard them saying she was being led into the examination stall. I heard several people present praising her, saying how well she had done when she went in. She also has issues with things hanging over her, so she wasn't too keen on the IV drip. Everyone who pulled the drip back up did so very slowly and carefully. I noticed this very positively back in November 2024. Last week, I had to take my draft horse to the clinic. Draft horses tend to be handled more roughly, but that was absolutely not the case. He was treated very kindly, and I was kept informed, just like before. Yesterday I was able to pick him up again, and he was even put out in the paddock in the lovely sunshine. What I thought was absolutely wonderful was that his blanket was taken off beforehand, as it was quite warm. I would therefore like to thank everyone again who cared for the two of them, both then and now. Above all, I am grateful that I was able to bring them both home safe, sound, and full of their usual cheeky selves.
