I brought my dog to this practice after surgery for a seroma. My request was specific: the seroma had to be drained and a pressure bandage applied, as previously recommended by the veterinary clinic. The draining was performed, but the bandage was refused, with the explanation that it would be "ineffective after three weeks." The only solution offered was drainage. Since I refused further anesthesia, I was told that drainage could be done without it. When I asked if he would perform it without anesthesia, he replied, "Not for you, you know everything better." This statement and the emotional, confrontational tone made a respectful conversation impossible. It seems that as soon as you cite the recommendations of a veterinary clinic, it is met with personal hostility rather than being understood as a professional exchange. ... The billing was particularly disconcerting: While the actual medical procedure (puncture) cost around €25, the remaining amount (a total of €105) was billed as an examination and consultation. By "consultation," they meant precisely the conversation that devolved into personal attacks and which I had never requested. Unfortunately, this wasn't my first experience of this kind. At a previous appointment for acute gastrointestinal problems, instead of a focused examination, I received an unsolicited monologue lasting over 30 minutes about wolf evolution, natural primal behavior, and theoretical comparisons between wolves and dogs. I finally ended the conversation after half an hour, as this philosophical discourse was never productive. The result: I still had no medical solution for my dog's ailments, but I was left with a bill for "consultation" (including nutritional advice) that I hadn't asked for and that completely missed the point. When I requested a specific examination, I was labeled "one of those pet owners who just wants to keep giving their dog medication." This intrusive approach and the tendency to impose unsolicited ideologies on pet owners instead of providing pragmatic help is highly unprofessional and questionable. At our trusted clinic, the symptoms were completely resolved shortly thereafter through objective treatment. My impression is that in this practice, clinging to one's own opinion outweighs effective medical care. If you're looking for a lecture on anthropozoology, this is the place for you—but if you expect professional care free from the doctor's personal biases, this is not the place for you. I will not be returning to this practice and therefore cannot recommend it.

At the beginning of December 2025, I was here with my Small Münsterländer, Maiko. To preface this, I've been handling hunting dogs for 35 years and have encountered quite a few veterinarians during that time. Never before have I felt as well cared for as I did with Mr. Blasius and his team. The dog was experiencing increasingly frequent coughing fits and had been incontinent for some time. After weeks of treatment with various medications by my regular vet, without any improvement, I visited the veterinary practice at Ruwerbach. There, Mr. Blasius thoroughly examined Maiko and quickly discovered an abnormality in the dog's abdomen. Subsequent X-rays confirmed a massive tumor. The following morning, Mr. Blasius attempted to surgically remove it, but this proved impossible due to its size and, more importantly, its adhesions to the bladder. So, with a heavy heart, I decided to euthanize Maiko and not let him wake up. Mr. Blasius then showed me the full extent of the damage using photos he had taken. Although Mr. Blasius couldn't save my dog Maiko, I felt well cared for and well-advised at all times. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Mr. Blasius and his assistants for their loving and competent care of my dog. I can wholeheartedly recommend the veterinarians at Ruwerbach and will continue to take my Parson Russell Terrier, Bobby, to them.

We are absolutely thrilled with Dr. Blasius and his team. He took his time with our cat, Simba, and explained everything to us in detail. He even tried to contact us on the weekend, but unfortunately, I didn't notice and had to go to the veterinary clinic where she was put down. I highly recommend this practice to everyone; we'll also be taking our dog to him. Thank you again to the entire team for the excellent care.

It's always a pleasant atmosphere, which also affects our beloved animals, even if they initially show some restlessness. Over time, they calm down, and once everything is over, they go home. 🐈🐶🐣❤️
