Last year, I took my mother-in-law's cats to the vet's office. We were warmly welcomed by the friendly receptionist and felt well cared for. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse when I went to pick up the cats. The female cat was fine, but the male cat died during the procedure. The vet explained that he was old and these things happen. I took our male cat to the vet because of ear mites. The friendly receptionist wasn't there. The other woman is incredibly incompetent. She can't even take a cat's temperature or weigh it. On top of that, she kept smacking her lips in my ear and was unkempt. Instead of explaining how to use the mite treatment, he explained it to the receptionist, who couldn't manage it. So I did it myself. The way he treats his employees is appalling and unfriendly. We're looking for a new vet.

Last week we took our dog to the Am Heegwald veterinary clinic for neutering. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this clinic. We would like to give a special mention to the very dedicated veterinary assistants! However, we were very disappointed with Dr. Heinz. He didn't take any time to talk to us before or after the surgery. Dr. Heinz came across as rather arrogant and haughty. The following day, we were forced to return to the clinic because the incision had opened. Of course, this can happen, even with all precautions taken. However, Dr. Heinz didn't exchange a single word with us beyond a brief greeting. All conversations took place with the very friendly veterinary assistant, who sometimes couldn't answer our questions directly and always had to go to the doctor's office to relay his answer. The incision was stitched again, but at the full price was charged again, meaning we effectively paid for the castration twice in euros. Due to all these circumstances, we didn't feel well cared for at all; it felt more like taking our car to the garage for repairs. We therefore went to a different veterinarian for follow-up care, who immediately expressed surprise at the type of incision made during the castration. We can't offer a medical assessment of the surgery, but because of everything we experienced, we've decided not to return to that practice. Addendum: The attached pictures show our dog one week after the surgery. Several arteries were damaged, and the wound is still bleeding.
