I took my cat there for the first time today and I'm thrilled! I got a spontaneous appointment for surgery, even though I mentioned beforehand that I normally go to a different vet. Both of them took wonderful care of my cat and explained exactly what needed to be done. They didn't do anything unnecessary and didn't inflate the costs. I'm truly delighted and I will always go to them in the future.
Absolutely competent and incredibly caring!! I'm so glad I switched to this vet; they take their time for consultations and offer various treatment options. You don't feel like they're just trying to rip you off—quite the opposite! My animals feel comfortable and are lovingly cared for. At my previous vet, my cat was always scared and considered difficult, but with Dr. Nehls and his son, he lets them handle him without any problems. Here, the focus isn't on the furniture, but on the animal and its owner :D Even in emergencies, for example, at night or on weekends, you can reach someone, and they take care of things immediately.
Dr. Nehls drew blood from my cat without anesthesia and repeatedly called her a bully simply because she writhed in pain. He even ridiculed the fact that she can't scream. His behavior leaves much to be desired. But at least he did perform all the necessary tests. Next time, a different, more caring veterinarian can do that.
We saw a badly injured cat lying in the street in our neighborhood. It was already late, so I looked up an emergency veterinary clinic so the cat could get medical treatment quickly. The vet who answered was incredibly unfriendly and seemed annoyed by our call. I described the injury and the situation, whereupon he brushed us off, saying that we should call the police in such situations; someone would surely help us there. The police were also very surprised when I asked them for help. After informing the police, I called a second time because the on-call vet had simply hung up on me the first time. Again, he answered, sounding very annoyed. I told him the police were on their way and wanted to ask if we should bring the cat to the clinic. He interrupted me before I could finish my sentence and cut me off. I made it clear to him that the cat would die if it didn't receive medical treatment and that, as a veterinarian, he had to take care of it. He took my serious words as a personal attack and hung up again. It's absolutely outrageous to leave us to deal with this situation alone, without even trying to help in any way. I will never take my pet to that practice again!
I called the emergency number and was very unfriendly and unhelpful; they just wanted to brush me off. When I said, "You're the specialist, what can I do?" the response was, "Am I your specialist at 11 PM or what?" They could have explained the situation (the bureaucracy) in a more informative way!
